I recently purchased this new cd from Loreena McKennitt. It is a Christmas holiday cd, released in October. Some of my favorite songs include a different arrangement of "The Holly and the Ivy" and "Good King Wenceslas". Also "Emmanual", sung in Latin and a French carol, "Noel Nouvelet!" It also has one of my favorite carols, "Un Flambeau, Jeannettte, Isabelle", an instrumental piece.
Overall, a very nice addition to our holiday cds, plus with Loreena's outstanding voice - superb!

I just picked up both Loreena and Enya's CDs. While both are good CDs I'm going to have to pick Loreena as the better of the two. And while it is nice that Enya sems to be finally reinventing herself some of it sounds like the usual Enya "day without Rain" stuff and then it jumps to another song with a bit more pop music sound. The flow seems to bounce from one style and tempo to the next with no bridge betwween the two. Loreena continues to go with her cetltic/gypsy style and it flows from each song into the next and any new musical explorations fit into a general Christmas theme of the CD.
