As the sacred year draws to close with Samhain I was wondering how people are planning on celebrating the festival? I personally am going to take part in a workshop in Mediumship which should be interesting...

That sounds very interesting,Stag(may I call you Stag) rolleyes.gif I will be looking forward to hearing more about it next week. smile.gif I will be forming a cirlce with 3 close friends and my daughter (It's her first circle at night and with anyone else but me. She,of course, is cool about it; I am excited.). I just love this turn of the wheel. This year I plan to set a place for a very dear friend that has been gone from this plane for four and a half years. She helped me raise my kids when they were small by moving in with us. I was a lucky working mom.I never had to wake my children up to go to daycare. She was our "Granny Jo". I'm sure she is making people feel safe and comfortable right now. I am on the net today looking for a recipe for cranberry bread for our feast. I've got a good (cheap but good) bottle of merlot ready. The first part of the night is the kids last football game of the season,so I am duty bound to attend. I can't wait though, this is my "christmas". I have spent time making "happys" for the other ladies. biggrin.gif And of course, after midnight I will jump on my broom and fly into the moon!! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

I know nothing about Samhain, but I would like to. What can you tell me abou this celebration, and what events are still had during the festival? smile.gif

Just type Samhain into any good search engine and you should be able to find all the info on it you could ever hope for.

but here's a snippet to get you going

www.celticspirit.org/samhain.htm

Personally I'm more spiritual than religous in my Shamanism and being eclectic I rarely mark festivals but Samhain is something I feel is important. We should take at least one day out of the year to remember those who have left this world.

Bhalilama, by all means call me Stag smile.gif If everything goes according to plan (basically that I make it to the workshop) I will of course write about it here smile.gif I hope your plans for Samhain go well too

I usually spent it with family. My in-law's and my husband and I usually do something. Not necessarily a circle, but a gathering of sorts.

Just recieved a phonecall telling me that the Mediumship Workshop has been cancelled... ah well. I still have my own personal stuff to perform and some bread and honey to leave out for my Animal Helper. Now I must make other arrangements for Samhain...

I am doing a small amt of celebration at work for my patients on Thurs night. (Wizard hat for me and stickers for all)
Then on Friday it's kiddie night first. The official children's time is 6PM to 8pm here, but there are always stragglers til about 9... Then I am going to a Crone circle. First time I've been to one.

Perhaps some of us could meet in the chatroom on that nite!?

We could make a virtual circle... just a thought.

An interesting idea Shadows but I think with all the various time zones it could be problematic not to mention if a non-pagan should wander in biggrin.gif But if I'm about friday I'll pop my head in
