On Thanksgiving sunday, Ange and I had Coira out to my brothers house. We decided to walk to the church grounds in Morinville and try to get some portraits of Jim & Joe's kids. It's cheaper than going to Wall Mart or Sears, so why not.

Anyway, it was too late in the day, so standing in the sun whitewashed the faces, and standing in the shade whitewashed wherever the sun hit in the background. With some editing the photos may be fine, but that's up to the parents. It was more for fun anyway.

But still, I learned a few things, and discovered that no matter how hard you think it is to take a picture of a child, it's three times harder to take a picture of three. wink.gif

Once again, Photobucket and I waged a war, and I lost. The shame is that the smaller ones are the ones that came out best. Each one of them is also much duller than the full size images (3458x2304).

They are Evan (10 1/2), Eden (8), and James (2 1/2).

Can't believe that I hadn't seen these until now. Fortunately, Haldur dug deep and brought them back up. Great pictures and Coira is just a beautiful baby!!

Thank you very much. I had forgotten about this thread......... (and celticradio, sadly enough). Busy, busy, busy. wink.gif

It's so odd looking at those pictures. Coira is so much bigger now. Three months makes a big difference.

I got a Canon wired Remote Switch for Christmas, so I'll have to set up some more up to date shots of the wee lass. This way I can make her smile without hiding behind the camera. smile.gif

Keltic, I didn't forget about you. I'm still sporting a sad 'replacement' piece on my left hand, until more funds find their way into my pocket. But in time I will need to have the real thing again. Sooner than later, I hope.

Photography is all about the subject matter, and it looks like you can’t miss. Having represented commercial photographers in the past, I’d say you have a good eye for composition, and with a some portrait cropping of the wee one, in photos 7 & 8, they would be even more special then the already are.

Just now seeing this, OR. Really great photos. I want to get one of those remote control things too. Your baby is way too cute! Hope to see more photos of her!

Lovely children.
Children are a nice subject to photograph, they show their emotions so freely and look easily natural. smile.gif

I haven't done portrait photography much myself, only few shots. And most of them are of children too.
