Celtic Punk band eh??? What are they called? That sounds like something that I would really like! lol

They are called "The Ballydouse" smile.gif

I think you may be right Rose. It seems that an awful lot of conflict arises over things we have no control over. ie. who our parents were......

Peace

Hiya Rosie!

Just thought I'd drop in and tell you about some of my favorites....

I like a lot of the groups that have already been mentioned... Michael W. Smith(especially the Worship album), Steven Curtis Chapman, Robin Mark (I have both CDs - Revival in Belfast and Come Heal This Land - GOOD stuff!), Hillsong music. I also like Iona, Eden's Bridge and Máire Brennan (even though I'm not Catholic! biggrin.gif )

I have seen two new artists in concert - Jeremy Camp and Casting Crowns and HIGHLY recommend both, especially Casting Crowns! (Those who like the harder rock sound would probably like Jeremy Camp's music... I don't care for the harder sound but I do like Jeremy!) I also like Avalon, Mark Schultz, 4Him and Point of Grace.

Have you heard about the album In Christ Alone, which features a trio of female artists: Margaret Becker, Máire Brennan, and Joanne Hogg (Lead singer of Iona)? This has some good stuff too! Especially the songs Hear All Creation and In Christ Alone. You should check it out!

Oh! Jeremy Camp is great! He is actually engaged to the lead singer from The Benjamin Gate, the band I mentioned in my previous post on this board. His is one of the best Christian albums to have come out in the past year, in my opinion!

You are very welcome, dear! Hope you're able to find it!

Has anyone heard of two new artists, George Rowe and Kristy Starling? They are quickly becoming new favoirtes of mine! George's song "Everlasting" and Kristy's "Something More" are awesome!

I also like Scott Krippayne! "You are Still God" Rocks!

Well this is what I get for taking so long to get back here: ya'll have started talking about some of my very favorite people and I'm missing it! Now I don't know George or Kristy, but Margaret Becker is one of my all-time favorite gal vocalists! I've always loved her song "What Kind of Love", from a couple of years ago... it always stirs something in me that brings a tear of gratitude to my eye. Here's my favorite part:

"What kind of love is this
That You would lay down your life
For someone such as me?
I'll spend a lifetime wondering why
The beauty of heaven chose here in my heart
To pour out its perfect gift...
What kind of love is this?"

Ah pooh, I've got to go blow my nose now I've gotten myself all stirred up....

--------------------
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king..."

How about Punk/Alternative rock! walkman.gif
I love The Benjamin Gate, Switchfoot, and Relient K.

Another fine selection of alternative bands!! My kids like Benjamin Gate better than I do, but I've seen them live once and they are more fun than a tilt-a-whirl... after one concert, the entire band signed t-shirts for my daughter and her friend, and those shirts are treasures now.

Switchfoot?? Well HOO-ahh, to quote Al Pacino! They are the ones I listen to all the time right now... "More than Fine" is my favorite, to the point that it pops into my head nowadays and I start dancing around the house, and my kids will say 'oh no there she goes - she's having a Switchfoot attack again!' I love this band. They rock, they love the Lord, and they have Les Pauls too. What more could you want!?!

LOL... yeah Switchfoot is excellent! My boyfriend "borrowed" my copy of "The Beautiful Letdown" so now I guess that I have to go find a new one! smile.gif I think that Switchfoot has excellent lyrics too! My dad likes them, but we have yet to win my mom over... she is more of the "Shout to the Lord" type biggrin.gif (thats not a bad thing though!)

HEY! I LIKE Shout to the Lord! smile.gif When I got saved two and a half years ago, that was one of the first Christian songs that I heard (other than the hymns you hear in church), and it is what pulled me into Praise and Worship music, and from there into Contemporary Christian!

But don't give up on your mom! My wife is strictly Southern Gospel, and recently I was able to geet her to admit (though grudgingly) that she likes Michael W. Smith's Worship album, which most definitely is NOT Southern Gospel! So there is hope for her yet! smile.gif (And I'm not through working on my wife just yet either! wink.gif )
