It is so fun to do. It can be very time consuming and expensive. I start probably 10 years ago and I am in need of new ideas. Just gathering up all your old pictures and putting them in bags by time area or Holiday etc. is time consuming. But that is the first thing I would suggest.. Let me know Brian if you start.

It doesn't have to be that expensive though...does it?

I love scrapbooking, but I am also finding it to be getting more and more expensive. No, it doesn't have to be. It depends entirely on your style. (I guess I have an expensive style. wink.gif )

I have an extremely helpful book called Fast Formulas. It is put out by Creative Memories. On the inside cover is an exceptionally relevant proverb. "Give a man a fish, and he will eat for one day. Teach a man to fish, and he will eat for a lifetime." It is then translated to fit the scrapbook enthusiast. "Give someone a scrapbook idea, they will create a page. Give them a scrapbook formula, they will create memories for a lifetime." This is true at my house. My scrapbook goes in order of events. My mother's books go by birthdays, Christmases, etc. Everyone has their own way to do it.

FYI, Creative Memories also has some awesome tools. Though they may be considered costly, they are well worth it in the time it saves to scrapbook. smile.gif They can be found at www.creativememories.com.

No it doesn't have to be expensive it just depends on how you want it. Like Cori said it is up to you. If you want slap them in a photo album. There are a lot of books and kits out there. I like Wal-marts selection, you can also get kits on QVC shopping. I also the the Creative memories and Anna Griffin. I guess anything works leave it to your imagination. Have fun... smile.gif

Ah yes scrapbooks.

I have many but not the Family Photo type. I am working on a system of scrapbooks ( I call them binders) that keep all my recipies and gardening ideas nicly organised... each having their own binder. Of course I like to use page protectors...I'm a bit nutty for that wink.gif but it keeps everything neat and clean.

This past summer as I spent delightlul hours travelling thru rural New York State and Massachussitts, a great idea came to mind. Why not enlarge and store maps of various roads and highways. I would cut out smaller sections of maps like south shore of Boston for example. Well, now I can easily open a binder ( Travel ) and use it instead of trying to keep open a map that's 4 ft by 5ft sad.gif

One of my current projects is to make a binder of driving directions to as many Irish Pubs and Highland Games locations as I can think of within a few days drive anyways smile.gif

One day I hope to visit them all... yeah right

So I would say that there as many ideas for a binder or scrapbook collections as there are Pubs cool.gif

Mike.

Hello Mike,

Yes that is a great idea. I may have to do that. Not that I travel very much. I just had an idea. A person could take pictures to go with the maps... smile.gif

Absolutely Rindy tongue.gif

Now you have the idea...pls try it. I have also set aside a binder to gather all my canoeing and camping ideas and pictures. It is a great place to keep stuff that you may want to look back at ... like 20 yrs from now laugh.gif
