Soo... Maisky is a friend of mine, told me about this site. I've sort of drifted away from Celtic music, old Osian tapes gathering dust in the cabinet, but would like to drift back. The family story is that I'm the great-great grandchild of a Cherokee woman and a/one of the chaplains in Custer's army. He was Irish by all accounts. That's on my mother's mother's side. Some more cletic blood on my mother's father's side but don't know much about it. They were Johnsons. Have drifted away from listening to much music since I've been losing hearing in my right ear, but my daughter is getting me interested again. Need something to counteract the Punk and Alernative tunes she downloads and plays from I-Tunes.

Welcome to the Celtic Radio forum Irish Cherokee Princess.
I hope you enjoy the music "as it seems you are" as well as I do. I think I would go crazy without this music... This is a wonderful place. I look forward to you posting.

Howdy, ICP, from the Navajo Nation in Northern Arizona! There is Cherokee ancestry in my family which I was just able to confirm recently. As you already know, Native American records can be a challenge, but one of my ancestors is listed an a Cherokee roll. Pretty cool!

Hope you enjoy meeting everyone on the site. Great bunch of folks. Welcome aboard and have a great day!
