Can anyone post a nice Gaelic-English and English-Gaelic dictionary type thing? The phrases are really helpful! I am haveing a ton of fun learning Gaelic, I always wanted to. But can I get a nice list of basic words that would be used in a sentence or everyday conversation? If you don't want to post it here could you email it to me?

There's a dear little plant that grows in our Isle Twas St . Patrick himself, sure, that set it; And the sun of his labour with pleasure did smile, And with dew from his eye often wet it. It grows through the bog, through the brake, through the Mireland, and they call it the dear little shamrock of Ireland.
Realm: Éire (okay fine, it's really PA, USA but that's just boring.)
Man, wish it were easy enough as to pick up a gaelic to english book in any old book store like picking up a spanish to english.

If we could just stand here, without the words, would that be enough? ..Look at the sky now. What color is it? Or the way a hawk flies. Or you wake up and your ribs are bruised thinking so hard on somebody. What do you call that?

I've seen some at Barnes and Nobel... they have them in the travel section as well as the language section. Also there's several good choices on Amazon.com. I have one that I got through Amazon.
Seo faclair math:- Try this one from Sabhail mòr Ostaig. It's in Gaelic, but has English to Gaelic translation as well. Gaelic Dictionary Beurla=English to Gaelic Gàidhlig=Gaelic-English
Ceud taing airson fàilt' a chur orm. Tha mi glè mhath tapadh leat agus tha mi 'n dòchas gu bheil thusa a' cumail gu math cuideachd. Nach math cluinntinn bhuat a-rithist.
Tapadh leat a Chù! Dé tha dol? Chan eil móran an seo idir idir! Tha i teth agus sgòthach an dràsda ann an Virginia an diugh. Bidh sinn a dol a-mach airson biadh agus bathar grosaireach a dh'aithghearr. Uill, bidh mi gad fhaicinn a-rithist!
Bidh mi a' sgriobhadh seo ann am Beurla ma tha sin ceart gu leòr.... Oh nothing much here either. Well England were put out of Euro 2004 by Portugal the other night, so that's made most of the Scots happy. Is it ok to write in Gaelic all the time here? I don't won't to put off anybody. I was reading in another thread that quite a few people had given up on the Scotland Forum Gaelic thread because they felt a bit out of their depth. I wouldn't want that to happen here. Anyway my Gaelic isn't so good, but i have learned a lot from being among more fluent speakers than myself. But what works for me might not work for others. Anyway enjoy your meal. Slàn leat.
Anything's cool. Do whatever you want. I think it's funny that the other forum that I started people felt was out of their league? I didn't hear that I wish someone would have told me. Anyway, I don't know how to speak or read. I have been using a dictionary. I just type in the words and the copy and paste. Haha!
It wasn't your fourm that was out of people's league, it was the original Scottish Gaelic thread over in the Scotland forum. Your's is fine, a ghràidh!
