If you take a gander at my profile piccie, then you'll see why I am a rural crone: grey hair and trees! I have a little home on 2.5 acres of mostly unworked land, with a lot of arboreal beings. I will be going back to school soon to learn horticulture and hone my desire to grow things. I will be turning some of my property into a native plant nursery to utilise for what I hope will be a thriving enterprise of landscape design, land restoration, and a ton of other things I have big ideas for. I am really happy and excited to have stumbled onto this wonderful community! Right up my alley, as I recently discovered, as an adoptee, that my DNA contains mostly British, Irish, and Scottish roots that go way back, with some Scandinavian thrown in..and even some Neanderthal DNA! I hope to make lots of friends here and have lots of fun. Sl�inte!!

Hi Rene, Welcome to the site and what an interesting story you have. Sounds like a beautiful part of the world. Let us know how you make out and would love to see some pictures. That is so interesting about your DNA. I bet the Scandinavian could have something to do with the Saxon invasion of Britian during the Viking age, but who knows. That's what makes it all the more interesting. I did not know they were testing for Neanderthal DNA, but often wonder that this is a pretty big missing link in humanity.
