I'm a big pen & paper fan; prefer GURPS, but have been known to dable with palladium & D&D. The downside is keeping the group together.

What are everybody elses thoughts?

I have accuaintances who play everquest & world of warcraft. They warn it's VERY addicting. I just don't find I have enough freedom.

Give me a group of freinds & a good GM any day.

Well, although I haven't really wandered into the MMOs such as World of Warcraft and Evercrack, I mean quest, I prefer computer gaming. Now, this could be because I've never tried the pen and paper gaming before, but it's probably because I'm lazy and have a short attention span for games.

However, if I had the chance to try out the paper and pen gaming I probably would. I would just have to meet some people who were interested and already had the experience.

I cut my teeth on tabletop RP. I can still do the Whitewolf system in my sleep. LOL

I play WoW, used to play Asheron's Call, and I'm having a grand time with it. But unless you're on a RP server, you might as well forget about roleplaying. I actually had a guildie ask me what it was one day. ::boggle::

By far my favorite form of roleplaying at the moment is online through instant messenger for live play and message boards for longer posts.

Message board RPGs for me, in which people take turns telling a thread in a story. Used to run a big one back in the days. People were so into it, and were so good at multitasking, some people ran 10-20 chars at a time. I myself - being the moderator - ran 40.

As for systems, I like to use White Wolf. Preferrably second edition, and go from there.

PC gaming is still my favorite- all the way back to the old Commodore C=64 systems! I was once a A+ tech and enjoyed putting together gaming systems to run the 3D RPG's on. I might would like Online rpg's, if I had enough broadband bandwidth availalbe to try it out, but, living out in the country I don't have that availalbe.

Morrowind was cool- Oblivian is cool- Gothic 3 is ok- I can't afford the hardware necessary to make it run real smooth. I just can't seem to want to get into consoles, being from the generation of early PC games when consoles were not powerful enough to even try a good 3D game on.

My father is a technogeek himself- the first to get a video camera, pong, and Atari. I grew up on this, and my first paycheck was spent getting the first Nintendo system, complete with external robot. I played D&D a bit, but I lacked that visual dimension, so I mostly stuck with Nintendo's Zelda tongue.gif

Then in college, it was the original (and highly lame) Diablo, as well as Zork.

I cut my virtual teeth on The Sims Online, and only because it was a gift to my husband as a musician (he had been told you could play guitar there!). Heh. I bought a new computer in order to play There, and although I have accounts in Second Life, Diablo, Puzzle Pirates, Graal, IMVU and Runescape, my home is most DEFINITELY in There. I love voice chatting-- It brings a level to MMORPG that isn't comparable in any other existence. I am always Jessalee- if you're hopping around, look me up!

So yeah, I'm a hardcore online gamer. Buuuuuuut, the hub and I play Magic: The Gathering every week at least once. Ask me about my red/white power deck! ROFL

Wait, do I do anything besides gaming? rolleyes.gif

I have been gaming since '81. My favourite and primary game is the original Traveller (sci-fi military) put out by GDW; the one known as Classic Traveller.

Have done a little Serenity and some GURPS but prefer Trav.

I used to play tabletop RPG ages ago, but group fell apart (AD&D and MERP)

These days I play World of Warcraft together with my wife, and kids sometimes
(yup, they are in my guild as well)
Been playing that game for 3 years now, still fun, but not enough to keep me up at night
Not every night anyway laugh.gif

I do mainly tabletop myself. I started with the West End Games (WEG) box set of d6 Star Wars back when I was in grade school, and moved onto Advanced Dungeons and Dragons when I got into junior high/high school. Right now my current game of choice is Star Wars Saga Edition (I'll be running two games once classes get back in session for my players), though I'm generally up for any game. I've got quite the bookshelf full of various systems, some that I've run and some that I'll never run, but read just the same as an aspiring game designer.

I used to do more console gaming than I do these days, but I just don't have the time for it anymore it seems. There are still some games that grab me and don't let me go, such as Oblivion and Fallout 3, but those releases seem to be getting fewer and more far between. It's the same with PC games. I've just never been able to keep up with the latest system requirements for the latest and greatest games, and most MMOs just don't grab me (though I probably will be signing my life away for Star Wars: The Old Republic).

That's pretty much my gaming habits.
