We are currently looking for writers to review albums, write interesting articles and work with CelticRadio.net in producing content for our sites. This includes CelticRadio.net, CelticMates.com, and WebCelt.com.

Articles include Scottish, Irish, Welsh, Celtic, culture; Celtic Music; travel reviews; technical articles on computers and technology; relationship articles; articles on musicians, interviews and more.

Payment for articles will range from $5 - $15.

This person should have a background in writing and should be able to provide samples of writing. HTML knowledge is a must in order to place links and graphics into an article.

Free Hosting and Celtic Radio Premium account included for any person acceptable as a Celtic Radio writer. Also, membership level will be raised to moderator on the forums.

Payment for articles will not be on a consistent basis, but could range from $15-$100 a month to start.

This is the type of arrangement that could lead to an increased involvement in Celtic Radio and more paid writing assignments as our site grows. It is also a good opportunity to beef up your resume during these down economic times.

We would like to have 1 or possibility 2 people that might be interested in this type of work. Again, it does not pay much - but it could be a matter of fun and enjoyment for the right person with the right skills. It could also lead to more involvement in the future and the possibility of more paid work depending on the growth of our site.

If you think you fit the bill, let us know! We'd love to work with you! wink.gif

Well -- I'm a writer and I have been published, and some of it has been music review and interviews; I have been thinking about a little series for the Scotland forum for a while, a sort of travelogue that takes in the actual physical features of the land itself, region by region, as well as cultural aspects. Not something I thought about getting paid for, though -- just an interest of mine anyway.

I would recommend you get hold of Antwn, since he is quite a good and lively writer, and he is one with a strong Welsh angle, including the language itself, which we don't have much of around here.

As a carpenter, I ALWAYS have side jobs that pay me cash. Most people want to do a bit of remodeling, but by going around the county building dept. , I can take a bit of a cut that ISN'T going to taxes, and my homeowners aren't spending unnecssary money to an entity that only wants to keep it's self in business.
I give them the same quality work ( I don't need or want the bad reviews associated with my name just to save a buck!) and they can get it done for 1/2 to 2/3 the cost.
It's really amazing how much money can be saved if you take Govt. out of the picture!

There are a lot of students doing "cash" work here in lieu of summer jobs. They are doing mostly smaller jobs and roofing. I hope at least with the roofing, they know what they are doing. A neighbor got brick replaced on her house for about half the price of a recent estimate (last year) because of the economy. and maybe a cash deal. (I didn't ask and saw no permit posted.)

I suspect this is part of the reason that govt revenues are falling like a rock though jobs, reduced spending and barter are part of the picture too.

Our Founders/Tea Party group is growing faster than anyone ever imagined and bitterness about taxation is fueling it.

If working for "cash" allows someone to make upgrades or repairs they otherwise could not afford, it is still a benefit to the economy as that money is put in circulation.
