I just got the idea for this thread and thought it would be cool to see everyone's tats (if they have any). Does anyone have any celtic-themed art and what not? I have no tats as of now, I've been planning a few. Two of which are: The English Tudor Rose with some sort of writing with it, not sure what yet and (if anyone owns the braveheart you'll know what I'm talking about) The sword with the flames above it and the sword is going into a celtic knot heart and then I put the words around it "Your heart is free, have the courage to follow her" but I'm actually thinking about putting that quote into gaelic... anyway, post your tattoo ideas or pictures. This should be fun..

If we could just stand here, without the words, would that be enough? ..Look at the sky now. What color is it? Or the way a hawk flies. Or you wake up and your ribs are bruised thinking so hard on somebody. What do you call that?

I haven't done it yet but I've had my eye on doing something with this for a few months now. I got it from a set of tattoo books by Courtney Davis but I haven't talked to any of the local artists to see what they could do to make it truly mine. I think I'd probably go right shoulder and then if I really enjoyed it, I'd put a stag on the other shoulder. That way some days he'd catch it while other days it'd get away. I saw a really cool one on BMe-zine (Word to the wise, that site has some extreme Body Modifications---not for the faint of heart or work safe. But they've got a celtic section in their tattoo user gallery, I look at from time to time to get ideas).

I don't have any tattoos yet, but I would like to get this on either my shoulder or bicep. It is the crest of the Clan Maxwell.

O'siyo, I have 7 tats thus far and probably won't stop there The one that I am posting is the latest..It is a portrait of my Papa Bluefeather and was done the Tuesday after Father's Day as a tribute of sorts to him..I know I won't have him forever here on Mother Earth but, I will have him forever in another way~ My tat artist Hutch took a picture of Papa Bluefeather, drew it on paper on a larger scale and then put in on my right arm/shoulder..it is a black&grey tat with the only color being the feathers that are tipped in blue..hence Papa's name ~ I sat patiently for about 7 hours until it was completed.. ~~ Sty-U

Wow, beautiful Art but that's gotta hurt!
A
O'siyo A, Not going to say it didn't hurt any but, for the most part the pain wasn't all that bad~ I didn't have any pain with the tat that is on the side of the arm..where it did tend to 'hurt' a bit was where the feathers go up and over the shoulder almost on the inner part of the arm..tender area there Was worth it~ Ni Ya We~ ~~Sty-U

Freekenny, do the tatoo's stretch out? Where is the best places to get one where a flower won't become a chrysanthmum bush?
Very interested in this! Thanks for the info!
Annabelle
O'siyo Annabelle, Indeed most tat artists will tell you that tat's could stretch on the skin depending on where you are going to get it...I have 7 thus far and so far none have done the stretch thing on me Personally, I would get the flower tat on your lower back, calf, shoulder or over top of a breast...just my opinion..this way you can enjoy your single flower without the worry of it becoming a bush as you say Best of luck and what ever you do don't be afraid to do the tat! Warning: they can become addictive ~~Sty-U
I just got my first tattoo four days ago. There are a couple of pictures in the tattoo thread in the Jester's court. Give me about a week for all the peeling to go away and I'll get you a new one.
