QUOTE (maggiemahone1 @ 11-Jun-2005, 11:01 PM)
The weather here has been hot and humid all this week and we have several thunder storms, nothing serious, the power goes off for a few seconds and then kicks back on. Maybe summer is truly right around the corner. I hope!!!!

I don't like thunderstorms. They scare the bejesus out of me.

We have been having thunderstorms since Fri. afternoon. Haven't had much sleep the last 2 nights. 2 of our dogs are deathly afraid of thunder. sad.gif

It's 84*F right now and the humidity is a killer sweatdrop.gif. Very, very cloudy....looks like it could rain any minute. Supposed to continue through Thursday than turn sunny. Vacation starts Friday so that's good (even though I love a good thunderstorm). Going to go north and visit my parents for about 11 days. Do a little kayaking with my da (who's going to be 79 this year). I am also trying to get into shape for an upcoming backpacking trip. Carrying the loaded backpack in neighborhood parks sure gets some funny looks. My da will be walking with me while I'm visiting them (though he said he's done carrying a pack laugh.gif).

Have a great trip, gettin-away.

It was 109 today! No wonder it was so dang hot! I must have acclimated to the Oregon climate when I was up there recently cause the heat seems to be bothering me more so now than it ever did. It is supposed to get to 112 later this week! Y'all every where else is getting out and playing in the summer while we here in the desert hybernate. laugh.gif

We're having a real heatwave again for the last week. cool.gif Temps in the low and high 90s which is PRETTY hot for my region. Today we got thunderstorms but the air never cooled down; it just gained a lot of additional humidity...Help, I'm MELTING... biggrin.gif

Thank you, Rindy. It's the humidity I can't stand very well. I know I shouldn't complain because we've been waiting long enough for summer but too much is too much. wink.gif

It seems like waiting forever huh? I agree though I don't do well in humidity and heat.. Give me the snow and cold any day..
Hang in there..

Today it was 109. Then this evening it cooled down some and I was in my shorts and flipflops. Hubby's sister had just flown in from Arkansas and when we went outside, she was like........."oh my goodness! This heat! It is stifling!" Hubby and I looked at each other and her and said how we were feeling chilly. She couldn't believe it! laugh.gif

Today has been wonderful in Kansas City. It's been hot and muggy all week but today it's been storming with those wonderful, powerful summer storms. Plenty of lightning and thunder to shake things about. My sole lament is not being home in bed with the windows thrown open and a book in my hands.
