My smallest purple pincher Faith ran away! She was always trying to escape , I always left the lid open a bit so it wouldn't get too humid. I left food out and it was untouched. I don't think their's any hope left for my little hermit cry.gif

Could it be that she was unsettled by the new additions to the family?

Poor tiny little thing. I hope she holds out til you find her. Surely she must be in the room or the house somewhere?

Since all hermit crabs come from the wild She probly wanted to get back to the ocean. She didn't really pay much attention to the new indo's. Maybe she just didn't want to be a pet , maybe it just wasn't enough. She is a very intelligent hermit...my other hermit crabs are ....hermit crabs , she on the other hand is not your average hermit , very smart...which is why she got out. We searched all the rooms and no luck , I'm going to search my room again tonight. sad.gif

We had this happen once and if she survives in the "wilds of your home" on the loose you will be lucky, if not in 3 days you will find her... your nose will know. Sorry but sometimes the truth hurts.

Yes it does.... I will miss her so much. She is deeply loved and will be missed. I don't think i'll find another hermit like her. Some people think that hermits are "throw away" pets. Once one dies , you just get another right? Not with me though , Faith was one in a million.... "it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved before." - Unknown. sadangel.gif

Faith is found!! I found her in the most unusual spot. I was cleaning out my guinea pig's litter pan , and she dug herself under all the kitty litter. When I saw her little white shell , I couldn't believe my eyes! I'm so glad she's okay! I learned my lesson , never leave the lid open. goof.gif

That's wild! I can't believe she's still alive. That's one tough crab you have there.

Woohoo!! Peanut butter and honey all around!

I would say that was a very logical spot. She found some kind of sand to hide in. I hope she will be OK.

So, Vicky - how is Faith doing? Is she writing her travel memoirs?
