I am a musicophile and love finding new stations that delve deep into genres and this one is way to awesome. I am a huge fan of Loreena McKennit, Cherish The Ladies, Gaelic Storm, Mary Black etc.

I also run a music blog 10songsblog on Tumblr, which showcases all kinds of music music based around themes.

So as a topic starter question I was wondering who ya'll all thought was the best Celtic/Irish/Scottish harpist. I put my vote in for Mary O'Hara.

And the second question is who are the seminal female icons in trad Irish/Scottish/Celtic music, the trailblazers and legends who paved the way for other women and musicians in general.

Hello 10songsblog from the great Navajo Nation in Northern Arizona! So glad you discovered us!

Let me suggest that you start this great topic on the Music thread. That's where most posts like this one would fit in best. I, for one, can't wait to get into the discussion! Trad music is my favorite. And Delores Keane is one of the best of the pioneers!

Welcome aboard and have a great day!!
