Phartripper awaited Captain Slotglas's reply but none seemed to be forthcoming....
I pay this man good money in advance to have a ship ready on a moments notice and he just sits here and drinks!
Ahum... Captain, how soon can we leave?

Slotglas looks at the amber liquid sitting at the bottom of his glass, and swirls it round three times, then tips back the remaining mouthful. Aaah. He makes a slow turn toward Phartripper, and answers the agetated man. We leave now. Decide who you're taking with you. And make it quick. My Anchor waits for no man.
((OOC - I hope this is ok. It looks like you were waiting for somebody to take the Captain's character on))

(ooc) Fine with me... I was hoping we had more members join us , but if we must play multiple characters then so be it...! I want the story to progress and not die!
It's a skeleton crew, that. Hesitate all you want, but you really can't do with any fewer than you've got. Well, men, we'd best be off, or we may never leave the dock. Slotglas watched Crabshack move in and confront Jesdone. He had a point, this Jesdone was a familiar lad. But there's no time for side tracks.
Blarney! You can deal with all that later. Right now I need a crew. I'm running on half as it is. The pay's nothing to write home about, but pay is pay. And I've seen you take worse jobs. Well?
Aboard his command ship that is really a Winnebago that has been modified for space travel, General Direction is strategizing with his officers.
All right, men. Admiral Guhtripper and Colonel Hockaloogie will be in the air coordinating the aerial and ground assaults. Col. Hockaloogie?
(Col. Hockaloogie)
OK. First, we will send our advance sniper teams into these three buildings surrounding the harbor. They will be providing cover for the armored units, which will be providing cover for the soldiers. Admiral?
(Adm. Guhtripper)
Thank you, Colonel. Our aerial units will be providing cover for Col. Hockaloogie's sniper teams. Additionally, we will be sending our special forces unit in to infiltrate their ranks. Seeing as how much we resemble humans, this shouldn't be much of a problem.
(Gen. Direction)
Thank you gentlemen. The operation will begin at sunrise.

Damnd Dawg starts to recover, licking the kind, healing hands working at his lacerated hide, then lifting his lip at the smell of Crabshack. He's too weak to do anything more than snarl at the man, a low attempt at a growl eminating from his throat even as his trail thumps the table on which he lies.
(how's that for a mixed message, eh?)

Oh, there's no doubt of that. You'll work the riggins anyway. But you've only got two hands, Phartripper. I was expecting a half score, but you bring me a pair. I'm afraid there's no two ways about it. She won't get far with half a crew, so it won't leave dock without the necesary numbers. And if we're going to be short handed, those hands had better know the lines. Crabshack comes, or the ship stays at port.
Slotglas looked about, but aparently didn't see what he wanted. So he got to his feet and said, We'd best be off then. As he headed for the door, he stopped and looked Jesdone in the eye. You.
Me?
Yes you. Pay the man, and be quick about it. We break dock in an hour.
Jesdone wondered who, exactly, it was that Phartripper would throw overboard. The wink all but confirmed the double meaning. He walked to the bar, and handed the keep his fare. Thanks Willie. He slipped another coin from his own pockets, into the man's hand, and said, That's fer the mess. I'll try to be less of a bother next time..
When he turned to leave, he noticed Crabshack looking at him. He held back to confront Jesdone, no doubt. Yes, you know me. I sugest you leave it at that, for now. By the time you figure out who I am, you'll wish you hadn't. Because I sure as hell remember you. When his back was turned, Jes clinched his teeth and walked on. As much as he tried to escape it, the past was ever present.
