The UK #1 on the day I was born was

Elvis Presley - Good Luck Charm

What's yours?

I don't know of any sites that do the US/Canadian ones - maybe someone else can add one smile.gif

For my birthday, it was Johnnie Ray - Just Walking in the Rain.

I, like TheCarolinaScotsman, am among the ranks of "old geezers" that were privileged to be born before any of this Top 40 nonsense. tongue.gif

However, if I could pick my own song, it would be anything by Buddy Holly, especially Rave On - now that's what I call a Top song!

Dearest zeryx,

I am so happy that someone in this forum has excellent taste! laugh.gif

I still have some 45's, including one that has "It Doesn't Matter Any More", which was his last published song before he died. Although I was only nine years old when Buddy's plane crashed, I still remember what grief it caused. Ritchie Valens, better known as the "Big Bopper" died, too. One of the greatest tragedies we suffered in the loss of very talented musicians.

Don McLean had it right in "American Pie".

Have a great weekend!

There's one for sale on ebay that shows all the things inside the box!

Sadly I don't have a functional record player so along with the rest of my LPs and singles it's stored carefully in a cupboard barely played biggrin.gif
