Well, I don't think we really had winter here in the desert. I haven't seen any blooms yet, but I am really hoping that my prickly pear blooms this year as I want to photograph and draw them!
Finally had all the leaves fall. My Mother still has some that haven't shed. Bulbs are up, daffodils are blooming. Ornamental Pear and other fruit trees blooming. Winter went through the other night.

I think your right Randy. It's about 6 here in New Jersey. I don't see any sign of Spring at all. The ground is so frozen, I had a very difficult time putting in my third mailbox this Winter. Snow plow driver must be falling asleep at the wheel. New mailboxes popping up are all that I see around here.

Spring is still a ways away here at the cabin. Mountains of snow -- quite beautiful -- deer were in last night to eat. below zero last night. Clear up to about 10 above right now. The sun's shining and may prove to be a glorious day. In the valley it's still snowy and cold. Not enough to get a snow day from school but still icky. Spring comes there in March or April. I've been in a blizzard on Memorial Day, however.

No sign of spring here. It's still buried under all the snow. Highs in the low 20s today but supposed to get up into the 40s (woohoo!) later this week.

May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
I wish I lived a little farther north than I do right now. But that day is coming. Spring comes here too early sometimes or we have a sudden burst of cold weather for about a week that kills the blooms and then we don't get very good peaches that year. A
We're not likely to see Spring here for at least another month, maybe month and a half. That ground's still frozen solid! Barddas, we do the same thing you do -- put another log or two on that fire!

Just returned from Paradise.
A small Michigan town on the shore of Lake Superior. About 4 feet of snow on the ground and light fluffy snow continuing to fall. About 6 inches in the last three days. Temperatures at a low of -14*F, a high of about 11*F.
Hiked to a couple of half frozen water falls and snowshoed almost 6 miles. Lake Superior was solid ice for as far out as we could see. Ships won't be moving for a while yet.
No sign at all of spring yet, but when it comes it will come fast. Coming home over the Mackinac Bridge, a large suspension bridge that connects the two Michigan peninsulas, I could see an ice cutter had been through the straits. Shipping season is just around the corner. That's a sign of spring in this area.
Today was quite nice. Temps in the 40's F. My daughter and her husband took the horses out for a ride. There's nothing here that I think could be forced to bloom, unless you bought it. I'm goining to do a lot of pruning about the last of this month with my roses and a few bushes. I'm hoping for an early spring. Can't wait to hear those birds singing and see the dafodils blooming. We also have those beautiful forsythia bushes that bloom in the early spring with the yellow golden blooms. Then the apple trees bloom and the smell is heavenly. I wish I could bottle that fragrance up and sell it. I would be a millionaire.
The only real sign of Spring that I am seeing right now is that when you are in the car driving and it is rather chilly out, you have to turn the heater off because the Sun is shining so hard the it heats the inside of the car. Next thing you know that you are rolling the windows down when it is in the 20's outside. On top of that, you can smell it in the air.

When I got home from work today, I notice the bulbs on the north side of the porch were starting to peek out. What a wonderful site. We were in the lower 50's today. Tomorrow 60's then lower 70's wed..
