Celtic Radio Community > General Discussion > What Book Would You Write

Posted by: peckery 06-Mar-2004, 08:40 AM
Everybody has at least one book in them. If you had the time, and was given the bling to write, what would your story be?
Mine, which I have been working on for years, is about the music industry in Los Angeles in 1980-2000 from the musician's POV. band.gif

I have a book in the works but can't tell you what it's about as it is a secret. Of course, when it's finished, I won't have it published because, well, it's a secret. After I'm dead and gone then my friend will publish it and give the money (if there is any) to my grandbabies. But remember, it's a secret.

Several People have told me to write a book on My Adventures Outdoors. Some of them are pretty wild. Such a Catfishing during a Tornado, being kicked in the stomach by a Deer while Coon Hunting and many more. tongue.gif I probably ought to do this before I forget them. sad.gif

What I would really like to do is Write a Book on FlyFishing. wink.gif

If you write it I would love and autographed copy! Go for it! I'd even be your editor!

Richard, I'm waiting for a copy, Please don't take too long to rite your book. I am getting older, you know!

JaneyMae, since your just a few months older than me I could go before you and wouldn't have the priviledge of reading your book, just a hint of what it's about. My lips are sealed! gossip.gif biggrin.gif

All of my friends say I should write a book about being a police/EMS dispatcher.

Nah. Nobody'd believe some of the stuff that has happened. Like the guy who blew up his house cooking meth, literally, but called to have Public Works come and check whether his furnace's pilot light is still on. Or the woman who called 911 to ask that someone take care of her dog because she was going to commit suicide and didn't want her dog left alone.

Well, maybe I could sell it as fictional nonfiction. laugh.gif Then no one would have to believe any of it.

Just my tuppence.

I'd write about filling my socks with cottage cheese while eating pizza biggrin.gif .

Seriously, I'd probably write fictional stories set during important periods of history.

I've got a bunch of fantasy stories running around in my head... but they will more likely end up as screenplays for animated shorts than as a novel.

Just as long as those hacks at Disney don't get a hold of them.

Stashed deep within the recesses of my computer, are the letters written to friends and family in 2000-2001. I spent that year living in Phoenix..

I was working for the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. I lived in community with 3 men and 3 women, all of whom were 20 years younger than me. I smile when whenever I think of the the fun we had that year. I taught in an inner-city Catholic school, My roommates held jobs at homeless shelters, food banks, and women's shelters. It was a truly eye-opening experience

One of these days I woulf like to find a publisher.
