[color=purple]This is the standard pie used in 'pie suppers' - ie pie and chips (french fries) purchased from Fish n Chip shops. They are normally deep fried (YUK) - but heated in the oven or freshly cooked - they are wonderful.

Traditionally, they were cooked using mutton - but mutton is much less common nowadays - so you might have to use lamb. They are available all over Scotland.

Cat, my friend. You are indeed the temptress of all good food. It's only 9 am and after reading this I want to go home and make it... laugh.gif

Thanks for all of these wonderous temptations.

I might make this for the holiday this week!

What can I say? Auld Scots fare is very 'more-ish' - ie the more you try, the more you want..... biggrin.gif

And be hanged to the fats, the cholesterol levels etc....

After all, you only eat one pie at a time, doncha? And it's not as if I'm advocating eating these twice a week forever more.... biggrin.gif
