It's been a while since I posted a news update on the site, so I thought now would be a good time to do so.

  • I have the new broadcast software setup on a test machine. It is completely awesome, much faster, better quality, and alot of bugs have been fixed. This will allow us to eventually have the album cover art of the currently playing song on our front page. Long term we will be able to do live talk, live shows, hook up a CD jukebox machine, phone requests and much more.

  • We are also going to be going on the FM dial. The new broadcast software has an optional FM tuner card that allows you to broadcast up to 26 miles. Now, certain FCC laws prevent us from that, especially in a heavy populated area - but we understand that we can broadcast locally for a radius of about 1-2 miles. In the town I live in that would probably open our broadcast up to about 5,000 - 10,000 people - especially with all of the businesses around here.

  • We hit a high listener count of 138 people this week.

  • We have tweak our main page to load alot faster and have changed the graphics a bit.

  • I am going to work on the forum over the next month, there are a few bugs that popped up and the only way is to re-do some of the features we have added. We might take some features away such as quick reply and some of the graphic features. Let me know if there is anything you need to stay.

  • I hope by late summer the site will start to improve with the site redesign and new broadcast software. My hope is for a much more interactive experience with some of these plans and with us now having the technology (new servers) to accomplish this.

    Well that's it for now!

Cool and suggest adding back more smilies the list in the pop up card is quite small when you last updated the forum software. Only has maybe a dozen or so.

Your hard work is certainly paying off.  The site is great.
