What Movies Have You Seen Recently?, Old and new

We went to see "Run fat boy run" with Simon Pegg sooooo hilarious with a good storyline. LOA

Saw "Michael Clayton" on PPV last week; I was tired so I had a hard time keeping up with the plot at first, but boy when that movie got in gear we hardly blinked. George Clooney is marvelous and Tilda Swinton truly deserved that Oscar.

Oh but what movies we have in store soon: the second Narnia movie "Prince Caspian" (old C.S. will be doing cartwheels in heaven I bet) but best of all X-Files this summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Took the kids to Horton Hears a Who. I enjoyed it more than I expected. A lot of fun if you have young kids!

Currently watching the "John Adams" series! Loving seeing history being portrayed visually for me.

I read the book, "Into the Wild" and thought it was great. My wife read it and was so upset by what happened to the young man, that she refuses to see the film version.

Haven't seen Michael Clayton but you are like my wife and son, they faithfully watched the X-Files series together from start to finish. The only television they shared in common. They even named the cat Scully!!

It’s about a troubled young man, who leaves his family to go to Alaska. It slipped by in the box office, and shouldn’t have, (at least in my opinion).

I agree with you JC. I loved the movie Into The Wild. I still have yet to see Michael Clayton. Wish I had more movie time...lol..

I did see Legend and I thought it was pretty good. I thought Will Smith did a great job in this movie.

Like you, I love to see the moving pictures of history with the John Adams series.
For me I think about 3 of my ancestors, 2 of whom mustered to the defense of Lexington and Concord. One was at the Battle of Bunker Hill and died at Fort Ticonderoga. When I see John Adams get called out to the defense of Concord it gives me shivers.

Been catching up on mine since the schoolwork is finally done.
Beowolf-Directors cut -loved it, but if it involves swordfighting, monsters, pillaging, looting, drinking mead and general womanizing-hey I'm all for it. Actually, the computer graphics were excellent, as was the story which was tweaked abit from the original. A bit graphic in places with the torn limbs, heads, etc. Not for kids! I did however think that the live version (Beowolf and Grendahl) with the guy from "300" (can't remember his name), did a much better job of having some moral to the story even if the effects were okay. I will probably buy this one

The Seeker-okay flick with Christopher Eccleston? (Doctor Who) as the bad guy. 14 year old discovers he is the seeker who must retrive all 7 signs to beat the darkness. Bit of a celtic theme. Interesting but not really great.

Justice League-New frontier-very good cartoon with most of the Justice league comic book heros fighting against something called the "center." Very different take as it is set in the MacCarthy era. Bit of a cold war vibe to it with a touch of anime. Some of the goody two shoes images of the heros are gone especially Wonder Woman. Hope DC continues with this type of exploration of its characters. A must see if you like comic book stuff!
