My name is Josh Mix, I'm from Georgetown, IN. I'm interested in a lot of northern European folk music, as well as the direct result of these in the folk music of the southern (and beyond) United States. I've been a fan of Celtic music for many years and I only find more and more I enjoy. It all started with Danu's "All Things Considered" album (which, by the way, remains a favorite of mine). Then onto the Chieftains, James Galway, Seamus Egan, Great Big Sea, etc. I'm always open for more suggestions too! I prefer stuff more in the vein of traditional but I do like Celtic Fusion stuff as well. I'm a big fan of glitch and other electronic music and it is entertaining to hear Celtic music within electronic sampling and the like. If there is anyone in the Louisville-metro area or northern GA, specificially Chickamauga/Ft Oglethorpe (my hometown), send me a line!
Welcome snakeriverust! I hope you enjoy the music as well as the forum here at Celtic Radio. The people are really nice here and the music is wonderful. I'm sure you will be introduced to a lot of new groups. If you like celtic music you might give Clann An Drumma a try also. Their website is in my signature just click on it. I look forward to you posting..
Thanks for the speedy reply! I look forward to posting and becoming a member in this forum, although, I am still learning. I have only been on one other forum, and that was the entheology.org forum. It's a bit different than this.. but I look forward to meeting everyone here!
Thanks for the reccomendation, the name sounds familiar, I'm pretty sure I have heard them on the station.
And I thorougly enjoy all the music on this station.. Seems like 90% is traditional, and every once in a while they throw in something more electronic.. In my opinion, it's a perfect match.
Hi Josh, Welcome to the forums. I too am a big fan of Danu...seen them in concert several times and have 3 or 4 of their albums as well as their DVD. Hope that you enjoy the various threads around here.

Thanks for your reply, Senara. I have been wanting to pick up that DVD, just never had the cash to get it. I'd assume it's worth it though. It's on my "to-do" list currently.
You have found the best site on the web!! The people here are so genuine, fun and caring. I know I have spent a lot of hours reading and posting as well as listening to great music. I hope you will find it as enjoyable as I have!
