Just looking here and there on the site reading posts.
And trying to start the history topic on the right foot. Not easy when trying to figure things out so that one won't do anything stupid.

Just got back from "power shopping" (left at 9:00 a.m; hit the sales early). I really don't like shopping....I know verra uncommon for a lass laugh.gif Taking a quick break checking out the posts..... I have already stripped the bedding, turned the mattress, re-made it, placed new pillows on the bed.

We are expecting company this month (house full). Bought a bed, new pillows (light comforters are next on the list). Will need to move the other bed to the lower level. I also, needed to buy a new coffee maker, the other one was verra old & is now making luke warm coffee, YUCK (the element is fizzing out).

After my wee break, I will be sorting through boxes on my third level; give some to "Good Will" & the rest to put in totes (which I found on sale, also). The third level isn't finished, so I need to clear things out so we can lay the flooring thumbs_up.gif

Going to peruse a wee bit more, then crank some tunes & get back to work thumbs_up.gif note.gif smile.gif .

I seem to be getting a slow start today. Feeling a bit sluggish, so I'm thinking of just having my coffee and reading for a bit, probably taking a nap, and then heading over to my girlfriend's house to do some quilting.

Yesterday was a bad day and today even worse. I called my parents yesterday from work to find that my dad was having a probable CVA because of his speech I could hardly hear him so much the pronunciation was bad it was like he had twice the size of normal lips and tongue. I told my mom to call the ambulance right away.

Today she told me that he'll stay for awhile in hospital because he cannot eat alone and part of his face is distorted and speech is still difficult. We'll see tomorrow how he is and I guess I have no choice as to just take one day at a time.

I'm very sorry to read these news about your Dad, LOA. You are right, this is the only thing we can do and what is expected of us in times like the ones you are going through: Taking only one day at a time and to get through it. You'll be in my thoughts. hug.gif

Over here we've got a beautiful sunny spring day so I'm doing a few preparations for a BBQ with family this afternoon. We have had so many cold and rainy days that we cherish each sunny hour!

Have a good Sunday everyone! smile.gif

My grandson was to be part of a "Unicycle" group that performed there before the race. I haven't heard from yet.

Hi Gabby,it's been a while, how are you faring these days?
Thanks for your kind thoughts. And we have about the same kind of weather here as well. But spring is coming and it'll get warmer for sure.

Just came back from hospital and I must say although the stroke was not severe his brain was somehow touch because his right side is partially paralized now.
I have to feed him because he cannot use the right arm but the doctoress is positive that he'll recover well. He still has some speech problems because it's hard to understand what he wants to say. But at least he eats well and that's a very good sign towards recovery.

We'll see how things go this week.

Thanks Patch for your kind thoughts as well.LOA

Is there more "illness" around or are we just getting older?

Seems like when my husband hit 50 he went screaming downhill. I hope I dont have that to look forward to.
