QUOTE (oldraven @ 23-Feb-2009, 08:59 AM)
Also, what kind of Troll registers just to make that post?

I guess I just answered my own question.

For your information I AM AN AMERICAN Patriot, tenth generation descendant of Scots who came to Virginia. I am not a troll. I am disgusted with half the population of MY COUNTRY by the way, who voted for YES this usurper.
Read your definition. HE has not shown:
A real birth certificate
His passport
His college records
His medical records
etc. etc.

I have NEWS for you RAVEN. FIFTY SIX MILLION AMERICANS did NOT vote for O'bama.
and now MANY of my lib friends who did are SORRY. He is a socialist, he is mongering fear and chaos. Last week he used the word CRISIS 27 times on one bloody speech!
SO since you are not from the US, don't presume to assume I am a troll.
I am an American Patriot who supports the Constitution, Freedom of Speech and the right to bear arms. THREE THINGS the O'BAMA administration now plans to destroy.
SO you know what? shut up and keep your lib socialist opinions to yourself if you have to insult AMERICAN patriots. How dare YOU?
PS I have been a member of Celtic radio for a long time, I relocated last year, and if you know about celtic radio, one did not have to pay in the past and I decided to join.
I am sick and tired of you foreigners who think OBAMA is the Messiah. Just wait and watch Raven.

When you register to make a first post that is pure troll bait, then yes, you're a troll. Again, he's not a Usurper. Re-read that definition. Musharraf was a usurper. Obama was voted in democratically. He has US citizenship. Why does he need to show a passport? Who needs his college and medical records? Are these pre-requisites for running for office? You can't vote for a guy if he has an appendix? What's the difference between a birth certificate and a 'real' birth certificate?

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/.shared/im...certificate.jpg

66 million did vote for him. Since 66 is more than 58 (not 56) that means he WON his job, he didn't take it. Those figures come from CNN's records, just in case you thought I was getting them from some 'lefties'. You say that he uses fear and chaos to control the masses by saying 'Crisis' a bunch of times..... while talking about the greatest financial collapse that has been seen in 80 years. I, along with everyone else who is subjected to US media, have been listening to Bush cram fear down the world's throat for eight years. 27 times is a lot of 'crises'. I wonder how many times Bush said:
-"Axis of Evil"
-"Terrorist"
-"War on Terror"
-"Shock and Awe"
-"Unpatriotic"
-"With us or Against us"
-"Threat to National Security"
.... really, I could go on all day here. The guy defined the Buzzword.

I don't have to be a US citizen to recognise a troll, buddy. I've been dealing with them from every corner of the world. You fit the bill, making your first post an open invitation for mayhem. If you think calling you a troll is some kind of personal insult, maybe you should google it. It refers to online behaviour.

For the record, I think the majority of people are viewing Obama with an extreme outlook. I don't think he's the messiah, and I don't think he's Satan himself. He's a bloody man who just got his job and everyone is acting like he's either taking way too long to implement ALL of his intended change, or that he's the source of every dark thought in the nation. It would be great if people would just wait and watch. But sadly it seems everyone has made up their mind about the guy within the first month of his presidency. So why don't you just take your own advice and "Wait and watch"? He might surprise you and NOT cause the apocalypse.

But it's already to late for Obama. The US Empire has been setting itself up for collapse for decades now, and now that it's happening the new guy is going to take the fall for it. It doesn't matter that the economy turned well over a year before his inauguration. He's the man of the hour to blame.

I do not presume to tell Canadians what they should do in their country and would hope to have the same courtesy returned. We are being blamed for this calamity but as the facts come out, Europe has been shown to be the worst offender in banking and the stock markets. Our system was attacked last October and we were able to preserve the world economy that one time. Anyone who believes that America can fix this is chasing rainbows. Every industrial country in the world is at risk today because of foreign investments by countries that have dark motives. Switzerland is poised on the brink of bankruptcy because of their banking industry and outside forces. The citizens there may REALLY need those firearms they keep in their homes.

Obama, like all politicians, is the product of his handlers, the media and peoples wishful thinking. He is not the "great hope" nor is he a great evil. He is NOT Lincoln or Roosevelt. He is no more honest than any politician who came before him and no less.

Those, both here and abroad, who expect him to "pull their chestnuts out of the fire" are going to be eating burned chestnuts.

I didn't mean for that to sound like the US caused the world wide economic collapse. They caused their own, though, which is what I meant by the empire setting ITSELF up.

Even still, the song remains terrible, if not offensive. wink.gif

I guess I do not see the song as being terrible. We americans tend to belittle our leaders percieved shortcomings in prose, cartoons and song. We have done it for many many years.

I did not mean that you indicated we caused the crisis.I have heard the blame here a little and more so on other sites. Early on I even blamed us. However, regardless of how well our our political, financial and industrial leaders have performed, we are all riding the same train and will all suffer the same fate. That is globalsation folks!

I expect Canada has the natural recourses to survive better than the US and the Mexican people may not realize that anything happened because of the poverty there.

We are truly living an historic event!!

Imagine the information we can pass to future generations.

Absolutely. Canada is by no means immune. Consumer panic in the US spells hard times for our already stark manufacturing industries, and the same goes for cutting back on driving affecting our oil exports, which is the primary source of GDP right now. I know here in NS we've never really been a growth economy, so we had no over-inflated workforce here. You couldn't slash jobs here if you tried. Having a stagnant economy and living in recession like conditions for 30+ years means that we aren't really feeling it here, but other parts of Canada are getting hit hard. We currently have two huge projects going up in Guysborough Co., where I live. An LNG Plastics plant, which can lead to spin-offs of a number of factories, as well as a deep-water shipping terminal that is supposed to cut transportation time and costs by being a shorter route from Asia to North America than by the Pacific. The Atlantic Gateway, they're calling it. By the time the world economy begins to recover, these two facilities will just be coming online.

The only hope for us is that we've got a strong banking system and are mostly resource based, not manufacturing based. With a dozen years of surplus budgets to back us up, we could stand to come out the other side of this recession extremely strong, depending on how we spend our stimulus. If we spend a lot of money on green tech. research and setting up manufacturing for emerging markets or trends, we might become the manufacturing nation we need to be. The problem with being a primarily resource based economy is that you eventually run out of resources. The other hope is that we see a lot of assistance for students moving into highly skilled and technical jobs. We need better workers and better techniques.

And then there is the prospect of Magna getting up the gumption to build an auto company here in Canada.

macewen is correct. period. obama, or more accurately his handlers, is/are [a]usurper[s]. he, nor most of his cabinet are even citizens. oh, one other thing to remember, america is NOT a democracy. well, it sort of is now on the face of it to ignorant dupes, but AMERICA as begun, intended and legally standing is a republic. huge difference. the "election" of a non citizen, with a whacking 42 days or some such pittance of experience into the congress, for which he was not legally qualified either, into the post of president is a farce and travesty. it would be laughable were it not so sad.

God help us all.

As an American at this point in history I am too disturbed by the "new" direction of our country to find humor in the song - hopefully several years from now I can laugh about all of it. For now - - - beer_mug.gif will may bring a laugh or two

I feel sorry for this man, he needs God! As far as his forefather being Irish, he would not be proud of this man. Remember he is "BLACK" so if that is the case that mean he does not except the fact he is"White" as well! The only reason he would says he was of "IRISH" descent if there was something in it for him. Black/Irish good choice Mayor Daily!

You will find that many have some Irish connection. Especially around and on St. Patricks day! I decided to give him a chance to make this work, but it is obvious he can not. Probably no one can.

However, I now see it as just the same game, different players.

See, that's what I don't get. It's only February. A little over a month in office and he's failed you? .............. with what? If you want an example of a failure who never had a chance to make a difference in Government, look no further than Stephane Dion. Obama, on the other hand, doesn't show the same kind of failure. You have to wait and see if his policies flop to make that judgement.

You will note, I also said, "probably no one can".

The markets are our best judge of the system as they are "forward looking". We have lost over 10.5 trillion in the markets to date. 3,300 more points lost and we will equal the drop reached on the day of the market crash in 29.

His stimulus was weak on jobs and provided little sense of security. Evidenced by the fact that the market took a big loss on its passage. We are "saving" industries that can no longer survive. His own party is not supporting his desire to cut pork from spending bills and told him it was their right. Nothing that was passed in the last stimulus will take place before the end of this year and some of the critical things for those unemployed will (insurance assistance for one) will take even longer. He is a better educated "george bush" with the same quality, or maybe even less, cabinet appointments. I do not recall when so many appointees have failed to pay taxes. That shows at the least great lapses in ethics.

The drop in home, auto and major appliance sales is no longer due to tight credit but fear and lack of consumer confidence! Nearly everyone is concerned about their employment. That probably is the signal of our economic doom.

His popularity had dropped as people realize that he can not fix the problems we face.

If Obama ever had an opportunity to ease the crisis, it ended with his attempt at a bail out.

Lastly, the federal reserve has been flooding the system with trillions of dollars. So has Europe and most other countries. The result is probably going to be rampant double and triple digit inflation and eventual monetary collapse. There is nothing in economic textbooks about avoiding that once the monster is created.

Again, I hope I am wrong.

But the economic slide started far before he took office, and the insane spending started with the Bush Administration. You can't put that on the new guy. That's a matter of, "We created this mess, now you own it."

The whole point of the bailout that passed under him was.... wait, what bailout happened after he became President? So far as I can recall the major bailouts of the banks, TARP, and auto companies happened at the end of 2008. Any money handed out lately has been part of the previous admin.'s deals.

And yeah, I'm positive no one person could have stopped the bleeding instantly. It takes the entire nation to get back to buying and borrowing, so the rest can get back to building. No National leader can make the buying public take action.

I never said Obama caused this, I said he can not fix it.

The second bail out is solely that of the new administration. Neither the first or the second was appropriate and has had or will have any real benefit. No country has EVER spent its way out of a financial crisis. When a loaf of bread costs 15 or 20 dollars or maybe many times more, we are burnt toast and that is where flooding the economy with faux dollars will get us. It will lead to devaluation of the dollar (google that one) or governmental default. You might want to google that scenario too! I find all of the above to be a real horror show.

Today several local newspapers used the "D" word for the first time. As one put it, it is with a lower case "d" still, but a "d" all the same. That sounds like being a little pregnant! We all know where that goes!

I have heard the above discussed over the last three days on TV financial news also.

There is NO confidence in the general population and that is what is driving the "engine." You can offer all the credit imaginable and with no confidence, no one will use it. Thus, people will not buy and more people will loose their jobs. The beast feeds it's self and will until it has run its course.

Only the Supreme Being can fix this (that isn't Obama) and I doubt the Supreme Being is interested!

Again, I certainly would like to be wrong.

Maybe this should move to it's own topic.
