In Gaelic, "craic" means 'good times' or 'fun'. With some of the best Celtic rock bands on the West Coast, the show will undoubtedly be filled with craic! We would like to take a moment to introduce a new sponsor of Celtic Radio! The Great West Coast Craic is a brand new Celtic Festival on the West Coast that is happening on March 6th, 2010 at the D&R Theater. Tickets are now on sale, so please be sure to visit their site to get all of the details:
http://www.greatwestcoast.comFeaturing some of our favorite Celtic Rock bands: Amadan, Clumsy Lovers, Culann's Hounds and Ockham's Razor! From their website:"There are many Celtic and folk music shows up and down the West Coast. Most of them feature traditional styles or mix in a little bit of that "modern" sound. After having performed at so many of the shows and meeting so many great Celtic/folk rock bands, we wondered "Why is there no Celtic rock only shows on the West Coast?"
So we decided to put one on ourselves!
Our long term vision is to make this an all day, outdoor event featuring many more bands then we could include this year. However, we also knew that to succeed we should start at a manageable size and work our way up to that.
So we pulled together the 4 top Celtic rock bands from California, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia and found a venue that could accomodate a large number of people and provide an excellant concert going experience with enough room outside to provide a beer garden.
One thing we wanted was to make sure the music and entertainment kept going. So, while the bands switch out, we will have several pipe bands and step dancing groups performing infront of the stage.
Come help us make this an annual event that will continue to grow every year. Be a part of the 1st Annual Great West Coast Craic!"
