None of the above. I use Yahoo's web-based email cool.gif .

Thunderbird!

1) it's Open Source, so I can custom build it for my system
2) It has great support for my multiple POP3 E-mail accounts
3) It's Linux native
4) It's relatively bloat free
5) It's pretty easy to use
6) It uses a pretty standard interface with all the common tools and functions easilly accessable
7) Great support for extentions to easilly add functionality
8) Not succeptable to Virii written to exploit Microsoft Outlook (And completely immune to most modern virii under Linux)

some cons:
1) Getting it to behave properly and launch Firefox in my environment is a PITA
2) no good support for RSS feeds
3) requires quite a bit of desktop space to use effectively
4) adding several names from the contact list can be rather tedious if you actually want to respect privacy and use bcc.

I use thunderbird as well. I find it is an adaquate email program and I can get a version for both Linux (my use) and Windows (my wife's use).

Wow! Thanks so much! I was considering using Mozilla Thunderbird but was very interested in the pros and cons. Thanks so much, Aaediwen.

Looking forward to hearing more what others use and why they like them.

We use Outlook. We haven't had too much trouble with it. It's been pretty good. Also have a yahoo account which I don't use much.

We use Eudora at home. Simply because it's a free edition and it's third party to Microsoft so not as much trouble with disgruntled hackers getting into it.
I use Outlook at work because we have our own mail server - MS Exchange and outlook is seamless with that server.

We use Outlook and I have one with hotmail as well.

Outlook but we have a cable connection so I go right to the cable company site and check it there. Less of a wait time and I don't have to worry to much about what's infecting my computer

Thunderbird. I use it just so I don't have to use an MS product!

Outlook at work (no choice)
Thunderbird at home (for all the reasons stated by others)
Flexmail 2007 on Motorola Q (much better than M$ Messaging)

I use evolution on my Linux computer because it's simple and lightweight. And very reliable.
On my Windows comp. i use Thunderbird, mostly for the same reasons.

At work i use outlook, because we have many own functions integrated to it.. It is actually really good software for work even it's micro$oft. biggrin.gif
It has many good features the others doesn't, but those features are not needed home... so..

Building a 64 bit Thunderbird 2.0.0.0 as we speak. I hope it works as well as my current 32 bit Tbird

Ah, i wish my comp at home worked. I need the bloody money to buy a new one. I wanna try the 2.0.0.0 too.
Btw Aaediwen, little out of the topic here but which linux distribution do you use? smile.gif

Linux From Scratch, and Cross Linux From Scratch smile.gif

Here's the home page for what I just built:
http://trac.cross-lfs.org/

More specifically:
http://cross-lfs.org/view/1.0.0/
(the current one I'm working on is a x86_64 multilib)

I have a Sparc64 Pure 64 bit build on my U60, and a standard 32 bit x86 LFS ( http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/view/stable/ ) on my server

Hmm thanks, i didn't know that this kind of thing was out there.
Sounds actually interesting, i could even learn something from it.

I'll write those links down and try them when i get my server back. smile.gif

I use Mail.app in OS X. Specifically, I download all my mail from various accounts with fetchmail and filter with procmail using Maildir with my Sun E420R in Solaris 10. Then I use IMAP to connect to the dovecot server I built in Solaris using Mail.app with my Powerbook G4. Fun stuff.

Sincerely,

William

I use Incredimail. I love that I can have so many customized Notifiers. Each of my friends has their own notifier so I know who send me an e-mail before I even checked my inbox.

It's a pretty cool program.

I hate Outlook, have to use it at work. Ugh.

I LOVE Gmail and all things Google, Google Docs, Products (Froogle), Photos via Picasa2 . . .

Evolution-E-mail

for one reason:
-it's unix wink.gif

Just like it, because it's frontend is similar to Outlook. So i had an easy time after changing my OS.
