Ok, wanted to give everyone some good news about the website. Now I realize that we have really not updated the website with any new tools, but that is about to change very shortly. Today we purchased two software packages for Highlander Radio. Actually, our vendor had a two for one sale, so we are getting a freebie out of this: EMAIL! Yes, we will very shortly be able to provide free email addresses and accounts, web based, under either domain: scottishradio.net or CelticRadio.net WEB PAGES! Yes! That is right, free webpages!! We will have the ability to offer free web pages to our members and you dont need to know anything about HTML. It will be similiar to tripod, only alot easier to use. This new tools will be packaged together with your own calandar, personal address book, email, free web pages and other utilities all from our website!! More details will follow over the next few weeks. I will also be looking for a few bravehearts to sign up for a test account. Email me if interested!!! This is definitely a     message!

The web page creation tool will be a simple web design tool easy enough for anyone to create a webpage. It will have templates, but there is also the option to upload and create your own by scratch. We have the frontpage extensions installed already on the web server, so we will have to see if it works. I am fairly confident it will, although you might have to upload through the web based software rather than publish with frontpage. Although I could easily manually set this up to work with frontpage on a case by case basis. The only limition we will have initially is disk space. We will give enough so that it is not a problem, and we will grant more space to people working on websites that can do something good with the space. Thinking that we will have a member directory with the sites listed off the main page. Its all in the initially stages, but I think with the email, free webpages, yahoo type celtic directory listing, e-store  we will have all of the community tools to start attracting more people. On the disk space issues, we are going to look to the e-store and our profession hosting/web design services to generate revenue later on this year. So, if we can generate revenue a good portion will be used to invest in this whole project and more disk space. I'm really excited about the email and webpage tools we have selected. I'll keep you posted about these!

Would you believe that the email and free web page software is now installed and ready to use!! I am happy to report that the whole install and configuration process went extremely smooth. So, does that mean we are ready to go live? Unfortunately no. The default color scheme, graphics and layout do not fit Highlander Radio in the least! In fact, I am a bit surprised that for such a great product they choose some really weird colors!   This will take sometime to get it looking like the rest of the site, but I would be more than willing to let people take a look. Just send me an email and I will send the link. Just realize that it will look nothing like what it looks now, except the functionalty will all be the same.
