Thank you!
Can you assist with the pronunciation?

I've learned how to say "left side" with the phrase taobh clì, but does anyone know the equivalent for "right side"?
Hmmmm.

And thank you stoirmeil. I've just been to the link you provided. MacDougall would be laughing with me now... he actually did smile... and talked ( I think he thought he was).

I'm expecting a Border Collie to join the family soon. I thought it would be really fun to try to teach the dog commands in Gaelic. Not only would it mystify people around us, but it would be a chance for me to start picking up words and a reason to pursue more vocabulary.
Anyone know a few words? My real worry is putting together some simple phrases; not understanding the syntax of the language, and of course the nuances.
My hope is that, by late next summer, or early next fall, that I will be able to start herding with the new fella.

My Border Collie, MacDougall, passed away last Wednesday night. We were driving home from my Dad's on a dark country road. He had a heart attack and was gone faster than I would have thought possible. Moments later I managed to drive my car into a bridge. I'm fine. The car isn't.
Although I'm still grieving (it has been more difficult than I had imagined; MacDougall was a part of me), I've started the search for his successor. I plan to learn how to herd with the heir apparent and would love to communicate in Gaelic with him. I was hoping the best way to accomplish that would be to become a part of this community.
I used to sign all of my emails "cheers", but now it seems that everyone does it, so...
