Are you a member, Wiz? There's not much info in their shell, and I don't like to sign up for something quite so sight-unseen. unsure.gif What's your experience with them been?

Hey dear! Yes, I am a member and it is a very unique experience. Since joining CR I have since joined several message boards, and this one is entirely unique. It uses a point system to encourage participation. You start with 15 points. You can post as many stories as you like for free. To read a finished story (other than your own) costs 3 points. You gain 1 point for each post you make to an existing thread. If you contribute to one of the live stories (a story in which everyone can submit a chapter) you get 5 points. If you make a monetary donation (which is not required) you can get extra points. Its still a new message board so there aren't many members (only 29 right now) and as far as I can tell only about 5-6 of those actively participate. There are about 34 completed stories/poems and 14 intereactive stories. The only thing I don't like is that until you get 10 posts under your belt, you can't start a new thread, though you can contribute to an already existing thread. Also when you first join, you have a limit to the number of posts you can make in a day. Right now, i think mine is 8, but as you make more posts, that limit gets extended until it really doesn't matter any more. All in all, I really think I like the place and hope to see more members so I can have some new stuff to read! Come on in!

All right, then -- on your recommendation. I have a fair bit of stuff for children to wing out there for some feedback. Let's see what there is to see.

I gather this means you can't post a whole new story until you have contributed commentary to others' work . . . that's actually not a bad policy. If it's a working community, that's a good thing.

Actually its kinda strange... You CAN post a new story, but you can't start a thread ABOUT that story until you get 10 posts! smile.gif

I guess it is good though. If you only have 15 points and all you do is read other people's work, at 3 points a whack means that you can only read 5 stories before you run out of points and HAVE to to start participating!

Maybe its not such a bad idea after all...

Hope to see you there!

Well -- I will as soon as I get the message that they've vetted me. I kind of like that too, actually.

Hey! Don't forget to post some that here too! We really need to try to help Aaediwen get the Celtic Hearts forum going again! Just about all of his active contributors have disappeared on him!

Right -- well, go back over there and check out the text for a picture book called "Tree Hugger." smile.gif
