I don't know what I'm gonna do this weekend, but I know what I'm going to try not to do: go near a suburb of Chicago called Joliet. Because of NASCAR being in town this weekend, there is an overabundance of Winnebagos, black Chevrolet Monte Carlos and mullets. It hasn't gotten as much press coverage this year than it has. Most likely because of the All-Star Game that is gonna be in Chicago at US Cellular Field on Tuesday night.
Speaking of the All-Star Game, I may go on Monday to the FanFest that they are having at the big convention center in Chicago. It's probably the closest I'll get to the All-Star Game. Cheaper too. $16 per ticket and it's all-inclusive (except for transportation & refreshments). I'll probably use public transportation to get down there and a $2.00 off coupon for the ticket.

Some men are drawn to oceans, they cannot breathe unless the air is scented with a salty mist. Others are drawn to land that is flat, and the air is sullen and is leaden as August. My people were drawn to mountains- Earl Hamner Jr.
I had a quite nice weekend with my parents. They 've been visiting Scotland for the first time and travelled round with the train covering the normal tourist route hehe, i.e. Edinburgh, Glasgow, Crianlarich, Mallaig, Loch Ness, Inverness and Pitlochry. While they were staying in Mallaig they came over on Thursday (doing stuff in Slèite, they were at Armadale castle and garden, and then we went together to Knock Castle, a nice ruin along the road to Broadford), and on Friday we did a tour round Trotternish (service bus under a more or less professional guidance ), having lived for half a year in Duntulm . On Saturday i took the train to Pitlochry , from Kyle of Lochalsh via Inverness (most impressive ride worth doing some time). We had dinner together at the Old Mill Inn and strolled thru Pitlochry to the Fishladder across the hydro electric powerstation. They were greatly impressed by that and the daylight still lingering at 11.00 pm ... On Sunday we went to see Blair Castle, the residence of the Duke of Atholl with his regiment (scotland's only private army). Was really nice and impressive with the luxury and the variety of styles in the various rooms. And then a stroll thru the castle grounds and the Hercules garden which made again a big impression on my parents and their friends with the intensity of the colour of the various flours and shrubs. And it was very hot, too, so they couldnae complain about the weather loool. Then it was good bye as they just caught the bus to Pitlochry while i waited for the train to take me back north .... going home

Aon, I know how to avoid them, I know how to treat them, yet still I get them! This is a big weekend for me.I'm going on holiday to Orlando tomorrow(first time too) so I'm a wee touch on the excited side.
The best way I've found to deal with hangovers is a combination of aspirin, sports beverages, and sunglasses. I dunno what you guys have for sports beverages, but on this side of the Pond we have Gatorade and Powerade.
We're going to have dinner with my sister and her family tonight. Otherwise, I don't know what I'm gonna do this weekend. Monday night, I may go to the Chicago White Sox-Cleveland Indians baseball game. I'm a White Sox fan and all Monday games are half-price admission games.
I don't know how it is in your area, but here in Chicago it is GORGEOUS today! Bright sunshine, not a cloud in the sky, and 76º. This is definitely a day to be outside (I say that as I am sitting here inside at my iMac)!
Hangover treatment, hmmmmmm, not that I would know anything about that first hand, but the best thing is this.
Realizing that 30 minutes of intense pain is better then hours of slow torture, the best thing is to engage in some sort of difficult, hot physical labor where you have to concentrate totally, with all your mind, or something serious will happen like sudden death. Examples would be like changing the transmission in your car, without any of the proper tools; or completely reroofing your house.
Or so I've been told.

First: Drink an awful lot of water and eat some fruit for breakfast.. or like Mike said: sportsdrinks instead of water to replace the lost liquid, then take a hot bath or sauna to sweat out the alcohol. It really helps =) I hate taking medicine if I don't really have to and I totally avoid aspirin, even when I have headaches... I hate that stuff
Second: Soak your brain in alcohol again. that's the festival choice, I love rock and metal festivals and you don't have the time/possibilty to take hot baths or such things
Here weather is so 'n so... sunny. rainy, all in one, but quite warm
Today, I stopped at my local liquor store to consider my choice of libations to go along with my frozen pizza dinner and, much to my delight, found one of my favorite microbrews, Point Special. I saw that and was like WOOHOO!!! Next to Corona, that is my favorite! Here is the website: Point Beer.com
