My apologies for coming in late and being dense, but is there a reason there's only a few dog breeds?

I actually don't have a favorite as such - I love many different breeds for different reasons. I've chosen to surround myself with Border Collies for practical reasons, lol. One of my breeds, Maremma sheepdog, wouldn't even appear on most common breed lists.

I am a Great Dane lover. I've owned a Dane most of my life. I've had three fawns and now I have a black. Daisy is my first without her ears cropped and it's a bit of a pain keeping ears that big clean. I never had a problem like that with my others, but they were all bought directly from breeders. Lil Ms. Daisy is a rescue. I got her when she was a year and 9 months, with all her bad habits. She's a great dog now and so affectionate. She still likes to counter surf if anything is left out, but we have learned to not leave anything around.

I also have a JRT, also a rescue. He's allergic to everything, but he's so cute! He's like a cat and when Daisy is sprawled across her couch, he jumps up on her, paws her like a cat would to soften up his spot and just curls up and goes to sleep on top of her. She is 140lbs and he is 14lbs.

They are a riot! And the comments I get when we're out with them is rather funny. They are a conversation piece.

I don't know #1 but Bulldogs are in the top 10 for the first time since the 30s.
But for it's the Dachshunds and Sled dogs.

mine is my jack russel SPARKY, being Australian ,Austlaian cattle dog's are next but not so good as a city dog as they really need to work . My sister was a Indurance horse rider and we used to go out for 20 mile rides and the cattle dog's would run along with the horses all day, amazing stamina

My dog is a Brittany Spaniel named Sparky. He is probably the hardest dog to train I ever had. It took two years to become the "Alpha Dog" and then he began to do things my way. He is seven now and in many ways still acts like a puppy. He still has his moments but I would not part with him.

I received a joke the other day about dogs being loyal able and willing to save you from fire and other calamities and be your best friend. There is a way to test the theory if you wish. Just lock your wife and your dog in the trunk of your car. After an hour, unlock the trunk and note which is happy to see you.
