I'm gonna indulge in a bit of shameless self promotion here.
I've received the blessings of the powers that be here at CelticRadio,
so, have yerselves a listen and let us know what you all think.
If the spirit moves you, there's a code that you can copy and paste
by clicking the share button at the top right of the player that will allow
you to add the Finn's Fury widget player to your page, so have at it!
If you listen and love what you hear...the CD is available at both
CDBaby.com and iTunes.
Also, come visit us at www.finnsfury.com

Clicking the bottom play button will allow you to listen to our
good friends, Blaggards. Their album's called Standards. They're
a great group fronted by Paddy Devlin who hails from
Dublin, Ireland but now calls Houston, Texas home.

O'Doom, I know you said before that this page is only temporary- but in my opinion, it gives people a good look (and a listen or two) at the group.

kick ass. I like it. Its a little more folk, then it is rock and I think that helps Finn Fury stand out from most celtic punk bands.

Great sound! I think what I like the best is that each trac is great! Thanks for sharing. I am sending links to my friends wink.gif

Wow thats a great sounding CD. You are a talented artist, and a credit to Celtic Radio Thanks for sharing your gift with all of us.

Thank you all for the excellent comments.
I have to apologize for the delay in responding.
St. Patty's Day weekend is our busiest time and it was hectic, to say the least.
Of course, consuming one's body weight in Guinness and Irish Car Bombs doesn't help
matters.

I was just checking your tour dates. Turns out you'll be in my "backyard" on Aug 2. I'll definitely be out then!

Only if I can add the phrase "wanna join me for a beer?" on the end of that.
Festival Fare is usually lacking in quality, but not in price. Luckily there are alternatives.
You're scheduled to play at Volksplatz stage:
http://www.musikfest.org/about/map.asp
Within very easy walking distance is Bethlehem Brew Works, one of our local MicroBreweries. http://www.thebrewworks.com/bethlehem-brew-works/
It's at the corner of Broad and Main Streets shown in the first map.
For the Cigar lovers like myself, Cigars International ( http://www.cigarsinternational.com/html/store.asp#dt ) has their downtown store located 3 doors down from the brew works.

If you guys are planning on spending the night (it's not a real long drive back home, but maybe long enough) I picked up a PT job working at a local Best Western and can hook you up with reduced cost rooms. PM or e-mail me if you want details.

Damn the inability to not edit one's own post...
Anyway, here I go with forum faux pas #42: double posting!

For those of you who frequent the Celtic Classic (and I know you're out there, I've met up with some of you in the past) Musikfest is held in the exact same location but seven weeks earlier. Although not devoted 100% to all things Celtic, Musickfest's lineup this year includes
Finn's Fury (if you hadn't already noticed)
Brother
Seamus Kennedy
Scythian
Searson
Tempest
Eileen Ivers

Unfortunately the money-hungry powers-that-be at Musikfest seem to have split up the Celtic acts to one per night this year, instead of their usual all in the same night. The (current) full lineup is here: http://www.musikfest.org/lineup/2008.asp
Scroll down.. waaaaay down... to get to the free shows. tongue.gif
If anyone here is thinking about coming out, drop me a PM and we'll hook up for a pint or two.
Warning: pictures will be taken and shared here afterwards.

As if I would answer "No" to an invite involving the consumption of alcoholic beverages!
Absolutely, subhuman. Sounds like a plan.
Also, much appreciate your offer of the reduced room rates.
Will let you know. Most likely we'll be crashing at my fiddler's cabin.
She lives in Manhattan and loves to do the weekend getaways in Pa.
Cheers.

Well, no....no plans.....but that could certainly be fixed in a hurry.
Where's a good place to play in Arkansas, Druid?
Better yet...where's a couple of good places to play?
Don't think we'll be heading your way for just one show....lol
Thanks for the interest.

I'm sooo sorry, Rindy.
I completely lost your comment here on the page.
So glad you're liking the CD.
We all survived....barely.
Did take some time for a full recovery, I'll tell you that much!....LOL

Little Rock, Fort Smith, and Lyons College I forget the town it is in but they hae a Bagpipe band and host Scottish events all the time!

No apologies needed ODoom. I am glad all of you survived and the music is flowing. Some how flowing doesn't seem like the right word for Finns Fury- raging sounds better! Keep us updated on things ok?

I won the Finn's Fury CD in the "Claim this CD" contest and it arrived a few days ago. IT IS AWESOME!! I have had a blast listening to it, it really gets your feet tappin' and is what I would call "feel good" music. That kind of music is why I stream the Celtic Pub Channel on Live365.
I am going to go to their Myspace page and [hopefully}add them to my friends list, or at least get some kind of link going so all my friends can experience the fun.

Hope they play Dallas, Texas sometime. We have an IrishFest here that is pretty big.

Play on boy's, play on........

Well, hell! What more can a musician ask for in a comment?
Thanks very much, Jay, for the glowing praise.
Tickles the hell out of me to know what we've done has been so well received.
Damn glad you claimed our CD. It's great to know it landed in the hands
of someone who's enjoying it so much
Thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts on our "baby".
Yes, please do tell all your friends.
Word of mouth carries much weight and we do rely on and
greatly appreciate it.
One great comment deserves another, so here's one for you:
Go raibh tú daibhir i mí-áidh
Agus saibhir i mbeannachtaí
Go mall ag déanamh namhaid, go luath a déanamh carad,
Ach saibhir nó daibhir, go mall nó go luath,
Nach raibh ach áthas agat

Since you don't own a Gaelic/English dictionary, allow me...

May you be poor in misfortune,
Rich in blessings,
Slow to make enemies,
quick to make friends,
But rich or poor, quick or slow,
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.

And I can't wait to hit Texas.
I'd love to share the stage with Blaggards on their home turf.
Thanks for the support, Jay.

Yes, indeed.
Just a forewarning...Calum's not gonna be at this gig. He's in Scotland defending a title and vying for the position of Royal fiddler to a court. BUT...we're bringing along a multi-instrumentalist who kicks ass on uilleann pipes, tin whistle and Irish wooden flute, so.....it's gonna be a blast!
Looking forward to tippin' up a few with ye.

Not sure of the mechanics involved but maybe you can play a show and have it streamed live on Celtic Radio?! Just a thought, tip a few for me while your "Tippin' it up to Nancy" (and Rindy, of course).

Deep Peace of the streaming audio to you......

Short version: O'Doom and I had a round, and a song was dedicated to Rindy as well.

Long version: drinking was cut short due to a problem with the brakes on the group's van. If we hear back from them, my temporary "fix" was enough to get them home. If not, well, then I hold the distinction of having the last photos ever taken of Finn's Fury. tongue.gif

I screwed up here, I forgot to charge my camera's battery before heading out. After the first photo, I was already getting a "low battery" warning. Despite this, I did manage to get a few pretty good shots.

A shot of O'Doom:

O'Doom really needs to learn to occasionally run around in clockwise circles, not just counter-clockwise ones. As can be seen here by this close-up of his cord:

A shot of Leenya and "that temp guy":

The band after the show, "refuelling" at the Bethlehem Diner:

Anyway, the show was a blast. I'll post more after some sleep, since I've been up for about 36 hours now.

Thanks for putting this on for all of us.I added it to myspace, now going back to add you lads and lass to my friends. My feet are still tappin' cheers.gif Do you think you might play in Mich. sometime would love to see you in preson?

Posted by: ODoom 03-Aug-2008, 12:17 AM
OK, Subhuman, who shall from this moment forward be forever known to Finn's Fury as
"MacGyver", performed a miraculous brake patch utilizing a hair elastic from my beard, human stem cells, 3 sticks of Doublemint chewing gum and a small woodland creature which got us safely home.
That's the good new.
The bad news is the photos he took of our performance at Musikfest2008 aren't worth near as much now since we're all still alive and well.
After seeing the close-up of my twisted guitar cable the decision has been made for me
to go wireless....on my bass, that is. I'll still continue to wear underwires in my bra.
Cheers, MacGyver!

Thanks so much for the support, Harlot.
Our plan is to play as many festivals as possible.
Mich. has a great many Irish fests that we'd love to be part of so.....
Feel free to mention us to any and all festivals you'd like to see us at.
Hopefully, we'll be there.

Milwaukee, Milwaukk, Milwaukee.
I know, not this year but maybe next unless you get up to upper Wisconsin or the U.P. of Michigan sometime. Not too likely since there are no celtic festivals up here. Still, you might make Duluth. St. Paul, MN get a good Irish fest going now too.

Ya know one of these days I'm going to be able to afford that edit button.

Posted by: ODoom 04-Aug-2008, 10:07 AM
Well, what's happened for the past 3-4 months was a bit of down time for Finn's Fury.
We've replaced our original guitarist with a new guy, Charlie Drannbauer, so that meant
teaching him the sets and getting him acclimated.
Then I needed surgery on my left wrist to correct an old fracture that was mis-diagnosed as tendinitis. I had to have the whole proximal row removed ( the 4 bones in your wrist). That meant getting a fill-in bassist for some shows...more rehearsals.
Musikfest2008 was my first time playing bass again for some time.
We plan on playing everywhere next year...as many festivals as humanly possible.
Would be thrilled if Milwaukee was among them.

Posted by: Rindy 07-Aug-2008, 08:54 AM
