Methinks some in his office said it wouldn't look right for the Commander In Chief to be golfing while his troops fought and died. Nero fiddling while Rome burned and all that.

You are probably right but for him to compare giving up golf to giving up ones life is beyond asinine!
He and Cheney (and also Clinton) are prime examples of why anyone who has not served in the regular army and preferably in combat should never be the "Commander in Chief."
That does not mean I approve of McCain.

Under our system the Queen in the person of the Govenor General is C. in C. of our armed forces. Stictly symbolic the actual Commander is the Chief of the Defense Staff. A General, Admiral or Air Marshall.

Does he really think that giving up a game makes up for the thousands of lives he's wasted and the hundreds of thousands more he's ruined? Is he really so stupid and arrogant that he thinks his slightest inconvienence makes up for a war?
