last night i watched Jackie Chan's new movie "The Medallion". I like his movies and I can't believe what that man can do. I think he's part monkey the way he can run up walls without artifical help. good movie!

I haven't made it to Farenheit 9/11 yet, but I very much want to. 'Course, I say that about a lot of movies...
We rented Stuck on You (Greg Kinnear and Matt Damon) and enjoyed it muchly. It was very funny. And tonight -- you're not going to believe this -- I just saw O Brother, Where Art Thou? for the first time. I can't believe it took me that long to get to see it!

Ya gotta wonder about those Coen brothers... If they grew up in North Dakota, did they really have *nothing* to do, or is it something genetic, like Mozart or Picasso?

Its great, but ya gotta wonder what made them do... well, that to Homer's "Odyssey." Don't get me wrong, I love it, but how did their brains get from Point A to Point B, y'know?

And the music is fun, too. I actually got the soundtrack a few months after it came out. Which is interesting, since I hadn't seen the film! walkman.gif

Let me know how it translates for a non-Yankee? biggrin.gif

Today a friend of mine finally got me to watch Life is Beautiful. It certainly is beautiful. It was a really touching movie. Roberto Benigni really did a wonderful job directing and starring in this film. If you haven't seen it I recommend it.

Took my boys to see Spiderman 2. Although the special effects are superb, the story is a bit slow and to melodramatic. If I'm going to watch a movie with this much money on effects, I want ACTION!

So far, none of the kids movies has even come close to Shrek for me. I love this movie, and sometimes watch it by myself when the kids don't want to join me.

Oh God, I am a child! rolleyes.gif

The peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is, that it is robbing the human race; posterity as well as the existing generation; those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error. ~John Stuart Mill, On Liberty, 1859

I saw The Village yesterday. It was ok. Wasn't as good as I thought it would be, but my wife thought it was the best movie she's ever seen. I guess it just wasn't my cup o' tea. The concept was interesting, though.

We just watched Cold Mountain. It was an O.K. movie. Just wasn't what I expected.

About a week ago, I made an interesting discovery while watching "Harry Potter & The Sorcerer's Stone". If you flip the audio to Spanish, Professor Snape sounds truly evil biggrin.gif .

We picked up Cold Mountain on DVD this weekend. Having 3 kids makes it a little expensive to go to the movie theater all the time. (5 tickets = $50), so it is alot more economical for us to just wait until the DVD comes out and then get it on sale.

I liked the movie alot. It starts out kinda unusually and jumps back and forth between the end of the war and the start of the war (Civil War). Unlike other movies about the Civil War that glorifies the war - Cold mountain has a very realistic approach. I really felt it capture the heartache of the home life very well.

I'm all set to go visit the Carolinas now. Looks like beautiful country!
