I don't play a lot of games but right now I am pretty well hooked on World of Warcraft. Beyond that, I have Neverwinter Nights installed and Tribes 2. At work, our group plays games during lunch (bonding activities) so there I have Quake III Arena, Unreal Tournament, Halo and Half-life installed. All older games but they run fine on the machines here.
Really, any game that requires thought vs twitch gaming is likely to pique my interest. I don't have it anymore, but I loved The Incredible Machine. It was a great game, basically you needed to use a random set of parts to get a marble to move from start to finish.

Thinking back on it, I'd have to say that my all-time favorite game has to be Harpoon (a naval warfare sim). This was back when I had a Mac Plus with a whopping 1MB of RAM!
If i don't watch it i can sit and play a game for 5 or 6 hours and not even realize it (not lately but when things are normal) but my favorites are
Soldier of Fortune 2 Civ3 Tiger woods Pga tour(haven't got the new one yet, no time to play it) Star Wars Galaxies and im beginning to get into Counter Strike Source
But once everything gets cleaned up and back to normal down here ill be hard at the video games again.
Anyone here like to play PC games on your home computer? I am not talking of online games, just the ones you buy at Best Buy, take home and pray will install correctly
This Christmas we bought our youngest son Call of Duty 2. It is a first-person WWII game. Wow, is it ever intense! I usually don't play too many PC games (the missus gets pretty pissed when I play and she thinks I should be doing something else). But I have found myself playing this alot. You can play either as an American, British or Soviet soldier. The common theme is fighting Germans. Either in Russia, North Africa or Europe. I've really been enjoying it.
I love Call of Duty. I had never played PC games until a buddy of mine introduced me to his favorite game, Medal of Honor a couple years ago. I got hooked on that one for about 6 months.
After he and his wife moved across the country, I went to a PC gaming arcade around the corner from where I lived, and continued to play Medal of Honor.
But, then I was told about Call of Duty, and it's been all about that game ever since.
I've been playing it so long that I smoke through it on Veteran level. I even went multiplayer and generally I rank at highest level on just about any server.
Hey, when you're stressed out, it's a great escape. It beats drugs, alcohol, and bad relationships.
Padriag call of duty2 is good, but if you like that game Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood will absolutly blow you out of the water. I like the Civilization series but got Brothers in arms for my roomate for Christmas he loves all those games. It is so realistic that the History channel has a TV show based on the videogame and the people that actually fought these battles helped make the game. I am trying not to get addicted but it is hard )).
I am afraid I would be very addicted if I ever started...and you are so right BlackIrishman much better to play these instead of the drugs, alcohol etc..
I know a couple of people that rave over Age Of Mythology- I have seen Age Of Empires played but not the Age Of Mythology..

Hello again Rindy.
I haven't seen either of those games, but I've seen other games I bet are like them.
Like I said, games never did appeal to me much, not even pinball, or pong.
I like tennis, baseball, soccer and such, only because they're physical and I'm more of a participater than a spectator.
I don't like just sitting around, but these WWII games just captured my interest so much. It may be because my father never talked to me about WWII.
He told my oldest brother somethings but never told me. So, I've always been curious about WWII. I even collected military issue items from WWII.
Other than that, games just don't appeal to me. Odd, isn't it?
Yea all my gamer friends are very emersed in WOW. I have resisted so far.
I have been keeping my eye on a game the the original people who started EQ (back when it was great) are making. They are making it with Microsoft and like them of hate them they have lot of money and this game looks like it may be the next big thing. They just started beta and want to release late this year.
Unfortunately, my PC doesn't have the room for some of those really big games, though I'd love to play "Star Wars: Galaxies or Age of Empires.
I have a MahJongg game that I bought for our PC. I got hooked on it when a friend of ours introduced me to it, when I was pregnant w/Wally, 9 years ago. It's my favorite game and I can soend hours doing it....so does that count?? lol
I know it isn't primarily a computer game, but is anyone hooked on Su Doku? It's a math game where you have to figure out the sequence of the numbers on the board. I suck at math so I don't play it, but my mom is addicted to it. She does the puzzles in both the local papers. I'm more of a crossword person.

May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
heheh, I love that pinball game! I'm pretty good at it cause when I was a teen, I must have spent hours playing the pinball games at home (my stepdad bought me one, full size) and at the game place downtown, Scratch and Tilt. I could spend about 2 hours paying on 2 quarters!
As for Sudoku, I'm with you, I suck at math!
