INVERTED NOMINAL:

*clears throat*

*shows proudly off what she just learned*

NEVER when a preposition is involved.
e.g. dancing on a table, singing in public.

But: I am afraid to sing a song. tha eagal orm oran a sheinn.

1) if the verb begins with a consonant => aspirate (of possible!) and precede with an 'a'

2) if the verb starts with a vowel => don't change

3) if the verb starts with 'f' followed by a vowel => aspirate

4) if the verb starts with 'f' vollowed by a consonant => aspirate and preceed with 'a'

tha mi airson sgriobhadh
I want to write

tha mi airson litir a sgriobhadh
I want to write a letter

tha mi ag iarraigh òl
I want to drink

tha mi ag iarraigh uisge beatha òl
I want to drink whisky (rule #2)

's toigh leam ceic ithe
I like to eat cake

's fhearr dhomh ceit fhainaich
I better ask a question

*steps pf soap box*

Well I know you all knew that, I didn't...

chuir mi 'n ceill gun immichen cein le m' aigne fein 'se co-streup leam.

Chaidh mi steach gu ceann an coisridh an robh ol is ceol is danns'

Ribhinn mhodhail, fiorghlan foghlum, 's dh' fhion-fhuil morgalach mo ruin

I hope you are all doing well.

I am very behind in my Gaidhlig! ph34r.gif

It is clear, sunny and warm in Arizona today

De rinn sibh an-duigh?
What did you do today?

Tha mi gu doigheil, ach cho traing an-drasada.
I am fine but so busy at the moment.

Tha ceist agam
I have a question.

De tha Gaidhlig airson

I am going on a trip. I am going to Oregon.

(trying to think of different things we can talk about as well as learn)

De tha Beurla airson "sith."
What is English for "Sith." I have seen this in closing a message before and I can't find it in my dictionary.

Uill, feumaidh mi falbh a-nis, a charadean.
Well I must go now my friends

Oidhche mhath! smile.gif

Bha e gu math measgte an-diugh air an t-Eilean.

- It was quite mixed today on the Island.

Bha uisge ann, caran fuair is thaining a' ghrian a-muigh feasgar. Chaidh na sgothan air falbh agus b' e feasgar snog a bh' ann.

- It was raining, a bit cold and the sun came out in the afternonn. The clouds went away and it was a nice evening.

Bha am buth trang an deireadh na seachdaine seo - phew. - The shop was busy this weekend.

Uill, feumaidh mi falbh a-nis. Oidhche mhath, a chairdean - I have to go now. Good night friends . smile.gif

Hallo a h-uile duine!
Hello everyone!

'S e "Memorial Day" a th'ann ann an Ameireaga an diugh.
It is Memorial Day in America today.

Dh`ìth mi cus!
I ate too much!

Dh`ìth mi hamburgers 's hot dogs 's baked beans 's potato salad 's macaroni salad 's cole slaw 's potato chips!
I ate....

Tha mi cho làn ri muc!
I am as full as a pig! (Didn't know a good Gaelic idiom with similar meaning)

Tha mi truagh!
I am miserable!

Tha mi'n dochas gun robh latha math agaibh!
I hope you all had a good day!

Madainn mhath a h-uile duine. smile.gif

Cuin a bhios tu a' dol gu Oregon CR?
When are you going to Oregon CR?

Am bheil e snog ann?
Is it nice there?

Nach eil e innteaneach mar a channas na daoine ann am Beurla, ann an Amaireaga
Isn't it interesting how people speak in English in America

Mar eisimleir-
For example-

Potato chips.

Ann an Alba 'S e Crisps a channas sinn
In Scotland we say crisps

agus Chips airson French-fries
Pavement airson Sidewalk
Biscuits airson cookies
Autumn airson Fall

agus mar sin air adhart
and so on

Ach co-dhiù. Feumaidh mi falbh an-dràsda
But anyway i have to go just now.

Mar a channas iad ann an Amaireaga...
As they say in America...

Have a nice day! cool.gif
