Our chat room continues to have "spur of the moment" chats involving anywhere from 3-7 people. Tonight I had the opportunity to meet Celeste, Angel Whitefang, Raven Whitefang and Oldraven in chat. All I can say is a nice bunch of folks! Thanks for the chat!

It occured to me while chatting that not everyone may realize that Highlander Radio is one of the few internet broadcasts that is utilizing the MP3 Plugin for Winamp. What is this you may ask? Well, it turns our 56k broadband stream into a 112k near CD quality broadcast. It basically doubles the amount of data coming down the pipe. But to take advantage of this special compression technology, you do need to use Winamp 2.9 and download the MP3 Pro plug-in.

I think you will notice a big improvement in sound quality with the MP3 Winamp plugin and we highly encourage you to give it a try.

Nice talking to you Macfive, though you were only there for a matter of minutes after I got on.

I always use winamp while at home. There's no point at work, as I'm using a $20 set of speakers that the stream would be wasted on. But yes, the sound at home is damn near perfect. thumbs_up.gif Thanks again Macfive.

Glad you are enjoying your role as the moderator! Yes, there are many things that can be done with the forum software - such as pictures, flash movies and more!

As far as eating up bandwidth, we do have the upload size limited to 50k i believe and we will go into the upload directory every so often and compress the files for better delivery and storage.
