First chance I got to post since the faire. Internet was down here cuz the sewer crew near the new Wal Mart site dislodged a boulder and it came down on the fiberoptic line. Ouch! Anyway the faire was great as usual this year. Amoung the acts I got to see were the duelists who were just featured in renaissance mag. I caught their last show which was pretty funny. Got to give them credit cuz they had to improvise a lot of their act because of a small kid in the front row who added his own comments fequently. They handled the stitiuation very professionally and everyone went home happy. Bought myself a scottish tee from 3 celts and company and a flask from my good friend Sterling from LOCH designs. Held the mead rather nicely. Said hello to A Knight to Remember and his Lady, traded wit with the Barbarian from the Nordic Inn and shared several sips (gulps actuallly) of whisky with the 3 celts. I believe one sample was from a 90 year old bottle and another was straight from the barrel. Ate chocolate mice, babies heads and bloomin onions untill my hearts content, listened to Richard Griffith on the lute and vihuela (unbelievable player) and Wolgemut (similar to Tartanic) and finished off the day with a trip to the mall to pick up a Cheiftans CD and some Potcheen. Whew, and that was just one day. Can't wait till the next one in Chippewa Falls. |
