Hello Everyone! I am from Florida( USA) but I have deep Irish/Scottish Roots. Very proud to have that heritage. I am a fellow musician so, I do enjoy listening to good traditional music! Look forward to chatting with everyone and make some new friends from abroad. I am 28 years old and I hope to visit Ireland one day soon! Blessings and Happy Days!!!

Howdy to you, Heather, from the land of the Navajo in Northern Arizona! so glad to have you with us. I think you will enjoy the good music and the camaraderie of the forums. My wife and I got to go to Ireland for the first time one year ago. It was all we dreamed it would be and more! Hope you get to go someday as well.

Hi Heather, I'm Sully also from Florida. I'm Irish with a little German & Swedish thrown in. My first trip to Ireland will be next spring. This is a great site for all things Celtic. There are lots of music stations to listen to as you explore the forums.

Hey! What part did you visit? My great great Grandfather Talley was from Donegal. Had a Scottish mother and an Irish father. Always been intrigued with the culture since I was a little girl. Hope to Visit Donegal one day.

I would love to have made it to Donegal, but we didn't get that far.

We landed at the Shannon and pretty much stayed in the west. We started in Doolin in County Clare. While we based there, we saw the Burren, the Cliffs of Moher and pretty much everything else in Clare. We visited Ennis because of a GREAT Trad record store there (love the Trad music!). After that, we visited the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry. Absolutely fantastic! We visited some friends in Ballincolig in County Cork and went sight seeing with them at the Ring of Kerry. Also fantastic.

After our visit, we went to County Galway and County Mayo. We stayed in Cong (Quiet Man) in Ashford Castle and enjoyed driving around Connemara. All amazing.

That kind of scratches the surface of our trip. We wanted to go to Clifden and the Aran Islands, but time just ran out.

We skipped Dublin on purpose. I'm sure it's great and that there's lots to see, but we were not interested in doing the big city thing. I can see Phoenix, Albuquerque or Dallas/Fort Worth anytime. We wanted to see "old" Ireland as much as possible. I know your trip someday will be just as fantastic! You'll have to tell us about it when you get to go!

Hello Heather.
I'm from Virginia where it is a little colder than Florida. (Although it has been a warm winter this year) I listen most days at work and really enjoy this site.

Hi Heather! I'm also from Florida. I don't know that I have any really large amount of Celtic heritage to claim, except that my ancestors on my Father's side are supposed to be from Scotland and Wales. I can say for certain that I'm 1/4 Finnish though! Everything else is pretty much a mix. To visit Ireland is my biggest dream.
Anyway, welcome to Celtic Radio. I'm a newbie myself and I'm still discovering all the great things this site has to offer. biggrin.gif

Hey there, Heather! Our weather in Michigan is feeling a lot more like you guys down south right now! It's gotten up to 80 degrees this week (last year we were at 7 degrees!). Someday I hope to go to Ireland. I'm hoping to go on a study abroad there someday. I've been a fan of the music, folklore, and culture since I was quite young. Do check out all the stations and peruse the forums, and take care!
