Myself, I'm using a pre-installed beach screensaver. Beach images help me think warm thoughts during the winter time, especially on days like yesterday, when the high temperature in Chicago was a balmy -4º. Brrrrr!

Well when not using a specific one I use the Warp speed through the stars that comes with Windows but right now running The Last Samurai Screen saver with sound. Is quite cool being I absolutely love this movie. Even using Kasemoto as my current wallpaper.

I don't actually use a screensaver, myself... But I made a point of installing Xscreensaver to test my video card and 3d setup with. I almost didn't post, but I must say that there are some really kickin' screensavers in it. BSOD...that displays system crashes from any number of different Operating systems:
Windows 3.1, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Mac (3 diff ones), OSX, an X terminal, OS/390, VMS, BSD, Linux (yes, it can crash, I admit it), Solaris, SCO, HPUX, Amiga, Atari, and Apple II
Various tunnel and tube screensavers, optical illusions galore, screen effects of various sorts, one that displays spinning 3d models of various gasoline engines....
then there's Matrix code (can also render binary and hex instead of the matrix glyphs).... hyper(ball, cube, torus)
one that "Animates a simulation of Lemarchand's Box, repeatedly solving itself." 3d rendered spinning lava lamps....
The old one for X that continuously solves mazes
Also some incarnation of something like each of those screensavers you see in Windows
Here is just a brief subset of what can be found in Xscreensaver if one wants to play with it =) Warning, prolonged viewing of some demos can cause crossed eyes and/or madness.
I don't use a screensaver either. I find they're more trouble than they're worth. My wallpaper changes every coupld of days. Usually the latest automotive offerings/concepts, but when I find a decent cg wp or amazing photography, I have to give it the honour of being my desktop.

I'm among the group not using screensavers. My experience has been that the "power saving management" Windoze features are an annoyance at best, and when turned on, seem to cause crashes when Windoze can't figure out how to start up again.
I don't use a screensaver, but right now my wallpaper is Aragorn. I always change it when I come across a really cool picture.

Well you can turn off the power management features and still run a screensaver. tis is what I do it just helps prevent images from being burned into my monitor screen which is the reason behind the screen saver.
I don't use a screensaver. I shut my computer off each time. I do use one of my own pictures for my desktop, it's a picture of Boldt Castle in Alexandria Bay, N.Y. (Thousand Islands). It's especially comforting to look at when 12 inches of snow on the ground and the thermometer is reading 5 above.

well, for me, in most environments mine blanks after a while. When I go to bed, I turn the monitor off. Modern monitors one hardly has to worry so much about burn in... I even disabled the blanking on the oldest monitor I have, because there is almost always a comversation going on for a while in at least one of the IRC channels I'm in
