| Where did you get this from? I can recognize some of it, like oiune which really should be duine and Basaichioh should be bàsaichidh. Did you fid this on the net or is it an image you have transcribed and could maybe post here? I don't have enough Gaelic to make this out without some additional pointers |

| I know what 'Clach-neart' is; it's a putting stone - a special heavy stone for throwing, used in trials of strength, as the wooden caber is. So maybe the first part is: Ach chan eil duine beo gus an tilg e (But a man is not alive until he throws) Every ....(one of them= orra?/ of us = oirrn?) will die, .....putting stone and caber. Orine oro is strange. Oran? Oir? Òr? Oirrn? Orra? ?????Every one of them, ?gold, p-stone and caber will die (unless a man throws them?) Every song about them - putting stone and caber - will die.? It would be good to know the source. |

| At a guess, I'd say this has been transcribed from a gaelic font (carved, written, printed, who knows?) but the old gaelic letter "d" looks like an "o" if you just glance at it. This explains the problems pointed out by the other poster. It really needs the source, but the post is so old now we're never likely to see it. |
