I just thought(since I am attempting to learn photoshop) that I would put a thread up with some of my attempts. I felt the need to share this one...out of sadness and...I dunno...i think its like my stories in that its a glimpse into my soul...anyway..here it is..as always, feedback is welcome. |
Posted by: Aaediwen 05-Oct-2004, 08:32 AM |
WOW! Can't say quite what is impressing me so, I guess that it's the mix of real photos with CG imagry like that. And it wasn't the resources of mega-corp to do it either. |
Posted by: Aragorn 05-Oct-2004, 09:16 AM |
That is awesome, the picture let me with some deep impressions and I feel a bit sad. Very expressive. Thank you for sharing it. |
Posted by: urian 06-Oct-2004, 12:23 AM |
thanks guys...anymore compliments and I wont be able to get out of my house seriusly, though. I did correct some of the problems I saw with it and added my "dark" flair to it. Here's the revised piece This Picture Has Been Removed Due To Its Violent Nature. |
Posted by: Aaediwen 06-Oct-2004, 04:26 AM |
Now *that* looks sinister. |
Posted by: urian 06-Oct-2004, 10:05 AM |
YAY! |
Posted by: Avonlea22 06-Oct-2004, 10:21 AM |
That's amazing, urian. I wish I had the talen (and time) to do that. Very nice, and yes, sinister. |
Posted by: urian 06-Oct-2004, 10:31 AM |
time..yes..time waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much time and insomnia. 20 hour days give you mucho time, my friend |
Posted by: oldraven 06-Oct-2004, 10:33 AM |
Some pretty severe expressions in there, and the broken picture can only mean one thing. (at least, I thought so) It's so expressive you tend to forget how much work was put into it, and how well it was done. Good work man. You got the focus off the photo-chop and onto the scene. |
Posted by: urian 06-Oct-2004, 10:44 AM |
Thanks for the compliments,Raven. YEah, the broken picture is a representation of my divorce(thats a pic from our wedding day). Everything has a reason too, even some of the pieces and where some of the blood is. Thanks for digging it. |
Posted by: urian 08-Oct-2004, 06:09 PM |
i know i said i wasnt going to post any more here but i was really proud of myself with this one and thought i'd share it with my extended family on celtic. |
Posted by: oldraven 08-Oct-2004, 09:01 PM |
Wow! This is on a whole new level. So clean, man. Your learning curve just spiked, buddy. What prog are you using, because this looks like a far cry from my cheap ps. One critique, this could use a nice 8-10 pixel wide border. Something dark, but not necesarily black. (a deep, and very dark forest green, so close to black you can just tell there's a hue) Try it and see how it looks. It's that final piece of contrast that wraps up an image, giving it a finished look. |
Posted by: urian 08-Oct-2004, 09:13 PM |
Thanks for tha critique,Raven. I will try the border and see how it turns out. I use photoshop 7.0 deluxe....and lots of time and lots of tutorials online. But, most of what I do I have discovered by accident(ie, this one) by asking myself"ok..what happens if..." The more I learn the more I find photoshop very customizable as far as textures, brushes, almsot everything. Its a great prog once you show it who's boss. |
Posted by: Aaediwen 09-Oct-2004, 04:02 AM |
You are quite a talented artist, Urian. Your spirit is quite dark. Darkness with a voice that cries to be heard. Something wants to tell me though that you probably don't come off as a dark personality to people who know you personally. It's channelled into your creative works. Quite amazing what you've done wuith PS. |
Posted by: celtica 09-Oct-2004, 04:40 AM |
I'm speechless ! I'm afraid I've not the words in English to say the power of this picture...in France we say "a little picture is often better than a long speech". Yes, it's dark, but beautiful. It's strong and evocative. Nothing to add except thank you Urian. |
Posted by: Angel Whitefang (Rider) 09-Oct-2004, 02:57 PM |
Urian, This last Pic is absolutly Beautiful!!!! You did a wonderful job my friend |
Posted by: urian 11-Oct-2004, 01:14 AM |
Thanks guys. glad you enjoyed |
Posted by: urian 12-Oct-2004, 12:34 AM |
not as clean as the last one but its somewhat of a present for my freinds who walk the path to hang in their Boschetto, their grove. I was saving it for Soween but thought I'd go ahead and present it. Sorry I couldnt do better. Maybe a later version, after I've learned more. Blessed be. Peace be with you |
Posted by: oldraven 13-Oct-2004, 03:05 PM |
You're apologizing? Stop that! Good work Urian. hmm. Wonder why the edges did that. Anyway, this is still far beyond my abilities, and I'm in awe. An interesting side note. To this day, despite my new enlightened view of other religions and symbols, this image sparks my early programming. Evil is the first thing that comes to mind, then ignorance.......... then I realise the ignorance is mine. Had the early church decided to adapt this symbol, like the trinity, rather than condemn it, I would have warm thoughts rather than fear. |
Posted by: urian 13-Oct-2004, 03:19 PM |
Thanks, OldRaven. The edges did that because, in my final run(when I was cutting the design from its layer to put on the new background) the points on the bottom kept being cut off. After a while I kind of gave up and did it as is. INterestingly, the christians did use the pentacle as a symbol for quite some time. It was also associated with sir Gawain of the round table. The most pious and god fearing memebr of the Knights |
Posted by: cori 13-Oct-2004, 03:27 PM |

So do I, but your so dang multi-talented I can't keep up with all your stuff. |
Posted by: urian 13-Oct-2004, 10:52 PM |
I'm not multitalented, Bill. I just really bored really quickly. |

Christian I am sorry. Insomnia is slowly sapping my spelling ability |
Posted by: susieq76 14-Oct-2004, 07:39 AM |
That is beautiful, urian. And there is really is no difference between short attention span and genius. |
Posted by: Avonlea22 14-Oct-2004, 08:06 AM |
Truly amazing urian! Have you given any thought of doing this on a professional level? Computer graphic artists are in high demand. |
Posted by: oldraven 14-Oct-2004, 09:03 AM
WOO HOO! Then I'm freakin Einstein! Urian, how nice is that? I need one of those now. No, a real one. How are you at carving? |
Posted by: urian 14-Oct-2004, 11:02 AM
LMAO um..hadnt tried to carve before. But I didmake a bowl in wooshop one time. I'm up for trying anything. |
Posted by: urian 14-Oct-2004, 04:00 PM |
This was a personal challenge today. To take a black background(black) and built somethign with no stock phot, no template, nothing but photoshop tools. Critiques would be very welcome. Pick it apart. |
Posted by: Avonlea22 14-Oct-2004, 04:03 PM |
Very cool, urian. That's some talent you've got there. I wish I had PS...it's an amazing program. |
Posted by: TheCarolinaScotsman 14-Oct-2004, 06:00 PM
But it takes talent (in your case, multitalents) to turn boredom into art. |
Posted by: urian 14-Oct-2004, 11:38 PM |
Love, like ravens, often takes flight in the most beautiful of ways. um..hope I didnt opver step anything, OR. Hope you enjoy |

I guess these are avatars as I see them....the 1st two and this one greenldydragon |
Posted by: Aaediwen 15-Oct-2004, 07:36 AM |
Urian! Those are amazing! And they bode well as a departure from what I'm used to from you Good times I see Speaking of Avatars, I never did tell you how I liked the blue dragon you were using for a while. |
Posted by: oldraven 15-Oct-2004, 07:53 AM |
Wow! That's just wild. I can't tell you how much I apreciate this, Urian. It's beautiful. Yup, this is my new profile pic. (you know, in a... *clears throat* manly sort of way) |
Posted by: urian 15-Oct-2004, 11:44 AM |
Thanks, Aaediwen. You mean this one? Yeah. Its been my favorite so far too. Thought I'd switch back. Glad you like it ,Raven. I was nervous about putting it up because I didnt want to step on any toes. and yeah..umm..manly hugs followed by much drink and maiming of small woodland creatures |
Posted by: celtica 15-Oct-2004, 02:26 PM |
Wahouououou ! I mean it's so beautiful.... Urian you should create a site to put and sell all your creations ! Or the temptation will be to strong and I'm going to steal them to make new avatars for me.... |
Posted by: urian 15-Oct-2004, 02:47 PM
well, actually, There is a shop in the UK interested in making some of my designs into t-shirts |
Posted by: celtica 15-Oct-2004, 03:43 PM

Posted by: Irish Stepper 15-Oct-2004, 05:19 PM |
That is Great News! I hope you pursue that. I know I would buy a few tee-shirts with cool designs like this! I love your work Urian. I guess I can forgive you now for failing to feed my reading habit, since you've replaced it with another one! |
Posted by: Aaediwen 16-Oct-2004, 03:49 AM
Yup, that one! You are giving me ideas to see what I can do with the tools I have. I'm normally not one for this sort of media for my creations, but wouldn't be the first time |
Posted by: gaberlunzie 16-Oct-2004, 06:56 AM |
Urian, GREAT job and great news as well. Welldone, my friend! |

OMG! I missed this thread, Urian! Shame on me! There is some awesome work here! I have PS and too much of a dope and too lazy to figure it all out. I am waiting for a PS class to be offered here in town and I am going to take that. Ooh, Ooh, Ooh! Urian! Did you do that Celtic rose avatar for me?! If you didn't, I want to steal if for my avatar! Can I? Can I please? It is so beautiful! I just love it! |
Posted by: urian 16-Oct-2004, 03:56 PM |

Posted by: CelticRose 16-Oct-2004, 04:26 PM |
Oh Urian! You are such a sweetheart! Thank you so very much for doing this for me. I can't tell you the countless times I have been on the internet trying to find the perfect rose too and you found it! God Bless you! I am going to change it right now! Thank you, thank you, thank you! |
Posted by: CelticRose 16-Oct-2004, 04:40 PM |
Well, Urian! I changed it! What do you think? I just really love it and so proud of it.........thank you so much! |
Posted by: A Shrule Egan 16-Oct-2004, 04:50 PM |
Mike, why not check with one of the local t-shirt printers and have the shirts done yourself and start selling them at some of the local shops. If you can figure out a way to start up a web page, you can sell them there too. If you need help starting up a page, I'm sure you can get some help from some of the members who know how to do that. Nice job. Keep posting your creations. |
Posted by: gaberlunzie 16-Oct-2004, 04:50 PM
Oh Rose! I just love your new avatar...it's so beautiful and fits you to a "t"...good work, urian! |

rose, I'm wonderfully happy that you like it. DOes me good to know that.*hugs* Mike, I will check on that after the first of hte month and I get settled into wherever I am living. Thats for the adive. Sometimes the most obvious things elude us...or me anyway. Thanks gab. I will, eventually, try to get around to doing a series of avatars...With my insomnia..shouldnt take me more than a week to do a few thousand |
Posted by: urian 18-Oct-2004, 03:02 AM |
My first attempt at coloring a black and white picture. I can already see somethings wrong with it but that may be because I created it and I was staring at it at 300% its original size...anyway..here ya go...a pic and a mythology lesson Depending on where you read the myth it is either Ra or Horus who creates Sekhmet. I prefer the Horus myths as he is one of my Patrons but I copied and pasted this one and it has Ra(plus I'm lazy) In the mythic days of Egyptian history, Ra Himself ruled as pharaoh for a time, and as He ruled for many years in human form, He, like humans, began to age. The people of Egypt commented on his frailty, noticed his weakening body, and some of them began to plot against Him, thinking Him no longer fit to rule in such a vulernable state. Egypt's people became corrupt with scheming, and although the people thought Ra old and senile, He could not help but notice how fiendlike and greedy His people had become. Mournfully, Ra decided that action had to be taken, and so He created the Goddess Sekhmet to destroy humanity. He plucked his right eye and cast it to earth to birth Sekhmet. The Goddess took the form of a huge lioness and did as She was created to do. Sekhmet's bloodlust grew as She ravanged the country, devouring those who had evil intentions, Her desire for destruction growing even beyond Ra's imaginings. In Her fury, She began devouring even those who were not corrupt. Ra saw this and felt sorry for humanity, determined that the destruction must now come to a halt, but Ra Himself was not powerful enough to stop by force what He had created. And so He devised a clever trick: He had seven thousand barrels of beer dyed the color of blood and drained on a field for Sekhmet to see. Drawn to the expanse of of blood, Sekhmet came and drank all of it from the land, leaving Her drunk and satiated. It was then that Ra transformed Her into the Goddess Het-heru/Hathor, a Deity of love, merriment, joy, and sexuality. Sekhmet was primarily worshipped in the Egyptian city of Memphis along with Her consort, the God Ptah. Sekhmet's destructive capabilities are balanced out by Ptah's creative ones. She was commonly associated with both sickness and healing, protection, and ferocity in battle |

Just had time to check out this site (sorry, way behind. no insomnia here I LOVE to sleep ) AWESOME urian. Wonderful. beautiful, unique, etc. and etc. work. I just have one question though.... WHERE'S MINE???????? Rather dangerous to ask an artist how they envision you, but what the heck, I'm feeling reckless. BTW- I loved the comment about male hugs being followed by drinking and killing little furry creatures.... |
Posted by: urian 19-Oct-2004, 11:45 AM |
Glad you liked it ,Brian, though I dont know what it will look like that small. Let me know and I will fiddle with it,some. El..I needed a good laugh this morning Thanks, as always. I am slowly working on avatrars(or my perception of them) so now worries there. You'll get yours. Mwhahahahahahaha |

Posted by: Avonlea22 20-Oct-2004, 12:42 PM |
urian, do you think you could edit my avatar so that the green background is not a square, but rather a shadow, of sorts, around the knotwork? |
Posted by: urian 20-Oct-2004, 12:53 PM |
yeah..I thin I saved the psd file for that one. If I did it'll be no sweat. If I didnt it'll take a bit. But not too long. I will put that on my to do list for today. now..remember..in this day and age..big brother is watching you This may look simple but it was som ework to make the iris and all..but I enjoyed it...now..if I can just get the nose to fit. |
Posted by: Avonlea22 20-Oct-2004, 01:13 PM |
If you don't have it saved, don't worry about it. |
Posted by: urian 20-Oct-2004, 01:44 PM |
no..its no biggie, brian. really. It'll take me an hour..at the most. Not long at all. no sweat and no worries |

Posted by: Avonlea22 20-Oct-2004, 05:30 PM |
Yes, but I was imagining the green to be the same shape as the knotwork...I guess the green would be the shadow. Don't worry about it urian...I shouldn't even be asking you to do this. I like the first one enought that I'll keep it. |
Posted by: urian 20-Oct-2004, 05:46 PM |
green same shape as knotwork..gotcha *wanders off and you hear the sound of band saws, hammering and the occasional OUCH!* |

I was actually able to copy Photo Shop 6.0 off of my old computer and install it on my wifes notebook. I forgot that I had it on there. My old computer was soooo slow. It would take two minutes or more just to save a document. Also copied Quark Express. I'm so jazzed. I never knew you could copy programs like that. |

Thank, Raven. I was looking at CS myself yesterday. I've got 7.0 so I think the upgrade should do it but I dunno. DO you think it a sign that I'm hooked when I have a choice between lookin gat a pretty woman and looking at the back of the CS box and I choose the box? |

I love the blue better too, but then with your name Emerald and with those green eyes, maybe the green would go better with your title, but I sure love the blue! Beautiful job, Urian! |

That is awesome Urian! Too bad they haven't come up with technology to put an animated picture onto a tee-shirt. |

Awesome animation/ Just wish it were a little larger Looks so cool |
Posted by: urian 28-Oct-2004, 01:13 AM |
I'm working on makign them bigger=p just hold your horses... ok..anyone remember what noprizes are? hmmm ok...a noprize to the first person to tell me what this is....(should be fairly easy) |
Posted by: CelticRose 28-Oct-2004, 02:57 PM |
I have no idea what "noprizes" is but it looks awesome! Really beautiful work! Urian! |
Posted by: urian 28-Oct-2004, 03:03 PM |
ok..waaaaaaaaaaaaay back when. Comics used to have letters to the editors in the back of them(they stopped in the late 80 or so) Of course you'd get the folks that would point out things that were wrong with previous issues(ie placement of markings, timelines, inconsistencies, etc.) Marvel(Stan lee, actually) came up with the phraze noprize. If someone was able to point something out that the creators, writers, inkers, colorers, etc had missed they get a noprize. which was recognition in the back of the book but no prize... ok I am a geek |
Posted by: susieq76 28-Oct-2004, 03:09 PM |
yeah, but what is it???? don't leave us hanging, man... |
Posted by: urian 28-Oct-2004, 03:32 PM
I told you what the no prize was |
Posted by: TheCarolinaScotsman 28-Oct-2004, 03:47 PM |
Two very different guesses: 1 The head of a devil or person or cat or bull 2 A snowflake (OK, I'm weird) |
Posted by: susieq76 28-Oct-2004, 03:51 PM |
Looks to me like several celtic crosses that have been placed at different angles. |
Posted by: CelticRose 28-Oct-2004, 03:55 PM |
Thanks for the explaination, Urian! Now to your creation! I see dragons of different faces! That is what I see! |
Posted by: urian 28-Oct-2004, 03:58 PM |
A snowflake? I hadnt thoght about that one. no crosses I was doing something spooky for halloween and it ended up being this...I guess its a bit too abstract and not many people who have guesses it(hence the noprize). Its a representationg of the elements and the directions there of. north-earth south-fire east-air west-water ...a bit too arcane I guess..sorry.. |
Posted by: TheCarolinaScotsman 28-Oct-2004, 04:04 PM |
And they call the wind Mariah |
Posted by: CelticRose 28-Oct-2004, 04:21 PM |
Oh boo hoo! I lost! I still see faces of dragons though! |
Posted by: urian 28-Oct-2004, 04:31 PM |
after you mentioned the dragons..I did too! I feel like we were taking the ink bloch test |
Posted by: Aaediwen 29-Oct-2004, 04:02 AM |
I figured it might have something to do with Earth-Air-Fire-Water, but I was looking too far I guess. Looking for something I'd recognise. Something in each side of it. |
Posted by: CelticRose 29-Oct-2004, 03:47 PM
LOL! That is exactly how I felt too, Urian! |
Posted by: urian 30-Oct-2004, 01:55 AM |
ok..so..the first sphere wasnt big enough so..I fiddled with another one and did a simple animation |

Posted by: Haldur 01-Jan-2005, 04:13 PM |
Very dark. Not that that's bad...above all I think you do very well with Photoshop. Never had a chance to work with it at all. I love drawing, painting, sculpting, and so forth but have not really tried my hand at much digital artwork. To me, this picture is indicative of a lot of painful feelings welled up inside. I think sometimes, without knowing, we all can identify with painful feelings. |
Posted by: Haldur 01-Jan-2005, 04:17 PM |
Also like to add that I was browsing an earlier post in this thread, the animated one with the eye and the dragon. I must say, that would be a killer image on say a website's banner or something! You're really talented with the Photoshop, once more. I say, I'd love to download it or purchase it, and then learn some stuff about it! Amazing! |
Posted by: urian 01-Jan-2005, 04:41 PM |
thanks for everythign, Haldur. People tend to look at it and see something akin to a suicide when that is so far from the truth. They point out the razor and the blood drops but fail to see that the razor has no blood on it. its a memento (as is the compact on the book) and, yes, it is a visual expression of some very hard and sad times. the animated gif. Thanks on that. I havent been able to do much with my photohsop but I will try to start again soon. I had just started trying to figure out the animated pics..I did a few avatars for some friends and that was that after my PC died on me. but I think I've fixed that problem for now. anyway. thanks again |
Posted by: Haldur 01-Jan-2005, 04:49 PM |
no prob urian. isn't that the truth though? we tend to assume so much without actually looking deeper into things. i've been guilty of it plenty of times. i love the symbolism with the blood drops, the pocket watch, and the journal. symbols of mortality, time, and hidden feelings. at least that's what i see. |
Posted by: urian 01-Jan-2005, 04:52 PM |
yes, it is. and I have been guilty of the same thing. thats why I am so proud of this piece(one reason, anyway). because you HAVE to look deeper to see exactly what is being said. yes..those are some of the symbols. completelt off topic..do you knwo any place I could go to post my music? |
Posted by: Haldur 01-Jan-2005, 05:02 PM |
Are you referring to on here or on other sites? If on here, i think you may have to ask one of the mods. I'm sure that if you had say a link to a .wav or .mp3 or something we could check it out in chat...again, may need to ask one of the mods. As far as other sites go, there are some places where you can post limited amounts of songs (i.e. 01:30 of a 5 min. file) and that's all usually left up to the artist. There is a site called www.garageband.com that does this and I'm sure there are others. When I was working with a band (which I'm still working with part-time-like) we were looking into posting on Garage Band...most bands or solo artists take that route to get some net recognition. I've been recording stuff for as far back as I can remember, pc-wise for about 3-4 years and I still have a lot to learn. Copyrighting laws are pretty much the same as anything else but I know that the best bet would be to set up a link to the file or post it on some sort of site like I mentioned in little servings. I'd definitely love to hear some music from ya! What do you play? |
Posted by: urian 01-Jan-2005, 05:06 PM |
I used to play drums. Taight myself to play guitar in memory of my brother, sean, but that went the way fo the do do. I mix, mostly. I'll email you a few of them when I get the hard drive recovered |
Posted by: Haldur 01-Jan-2005, 05:14 PM |
Sounds excellent! I've played drums as well, not as a main instrument, but they're great to jam on! I play acoustic/electric guitars mostly...looking into getting a bass guitar one of these days and dabble with that also. My basic music/recording studio wishlist: 1) Alesis mixer, $149 2) MXL condenser mic, $100 3) Microphone stand, $20-$25 4) Cable, probably under $20 That's my recording studio at its most basic...haven't gotten it yet but am starting to save up for as we speak. It's not very hi-tech but it will serve its purpose. I have a few projects in the works: one with Aaediwen, another with my wife's music, yet another with the guitar player from my former band Broken Theory, and one or two of my own projects (which include acoustic rock, folk, trance, industrial, hip-hop, etc.) As you can see I've got the next three to four years of my life booked for this dream, which is coming true every step of the way! Perhaps we could share some ideas?! |
Posted by: urian 01-Jan-2005, 05:18 PM |
ok..question being..when are you going to sleep? |
Posted by: Haldur 01-Jan-2005, 06:00 PM |
Good question. I usually try to get about 7-8 hours every night but with the sort of things I immerse myself in (music, art, writing) it's hard to get to bed early enough! Never seems to be enough hours in each day |

Posted by: Aaediwen 04-Jan-2005, 09:08 PM |
Sweet! I'll need to load it into the GIMP though and get myself a lot closer look at that flame. Feel like I'm missing half of what's there at first glance. As for posting snippits of music, I don't see why one couldn't post little snippits of their own material just like attaching a word document to a post. All the same rules apply, of course.. Or as a link in a post, much like how you post your pics, just with an Anchor tag instead of an IMG tag. |

thatnks to both of you I may try that..finding a page and linking to some of my schtiuff its a bit grainy(the pic) and I didnt know if I liked that but I see it lends itself to the overall feel of the pic |

LOL...if that's all it takes to make you feel guilty... That's ok though...I'm set in my ways, and like the 2 avatars I use now. I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I had to juggle 3 avatars. |
Posted by: emerald-eyedwanderer 12-Jan-2005, 06:12 PM |
Talk about juggling avatars. Now I don't know which one to use.... |

Bushido, the way of the samurai, grew out of the fusion of Buddhism and Shintoism. This way can be summarized in seven essential principles: 1. Gi: the right decision, taken with equanimity, the right attitude, the truth. When we must die, we must die. Rectitude. 2. Yu: bravery tinged with heroism. 3. Jin: universal love, benevolence toward mankind; compassion. 4. Rei: right action--a most essential quality, courtesy. 5. Makoto: utter sincerity; truthfulness. 6. Melyo: honor and glory. 7. Chugo: devotion, loyalty. These are the seven principles underlying the spirit of Bushido, Bu--martial arts; shi--warrior; do the way. The way of the samurai is imperative and absolute. Practice, in the body, through the unconscious, is fundamental to it, thus the enormous importance attached to the learning of right action or behavior. Bushido has influenced Buddhism, and Buddhism has influenced Bushido; the elements of Buddhism found in Bushido are five: * pacification of the emotions; * tranquil compliance with the inevitable; * self-control in the face of any event; * a more intimate exploration of death than of life; pure poverty. Before the Second World War Zen Master Kodo Sawaki used to lecture the greatest masters in the martial arts, the highest authorities of Budo. In English "martial" arts is confused with "arts of war," but in Japan there is only: the way. In the West the "martial arts" are a fashion, they have become an urban sport, a technique, and have none of the spirit of the way. |

Very inspiring post there, urian! I was in Ronin-Bushido for little over a year and loved it. There's actually a school here in Winchester, run by the same sensei I had, but I need to find the time to attend and of course, money is always an issue. Bushido is the way, the only way, the warrior's way. |

Calligraphy needs something else. I think if you found a way to get the creapy look you'd really have a nice piece there. Blood maybe? On perfectly flawed, that is neat I really liked it Initial impression was, "Wow, that looks cool! skin cracked like a desert riverbed, amidst a beautiful face" Interesting contradictions |
Posted by: urian 27-Apr-2005, 07:04 PM |
thanks guys. the carved look in Calligrapy was a complete accident. I was trying to do a pice with an "excorcist" feel to it and ended up with that. glad you both lilked the other |

Urian, it's been awhile since I have been in here to look at your work and I have to say it is all marvelous! I loved especially the black and white gal with the red rose petals and Perfectly Flawed! I love portraiture anyway. I couldn't get the link to work in Calligraphy, so I am assuming you must be reworking that one. Keep em coming. You are a very creative and expressive soul. You must feel very deeply in your heart. |

Outstanding work, urian!!! I say, I need to learn some Photoshop as I have acquired a temporary copy of Photoshop 5 or 6 (can't recall which it is atm since I'm at work). I really love the tapestry-like work here. The fairy was absolutely beautiful, the yin yang very stunning! Keep up the good work, urian, and please start giving Photoshop lessons or something because I know I need it! |

Me too! I have Photoshop 7 and am clueless! I have learned some things from playing with it, but there is a whole boat load of stuff on it I need to learn! I can crop photos, but I can't figure out how to resize images into pixels. |
