Well, we have some good news and some bad news with our Celtic Radio App.
The good news that we now have the technology to have a new membership database contained within our App and eventually on our mobile website. This is very important that we start preparing for the eventual reduction in desktop traffic that is already occurring.
Ok, the bad news? We are having some issues with android users and the registration system. It appears to be working fine on Apple devices. Our tech support is working on the issue and for now please using the mobile website on your phone until we get registration working on android devices.
We understand the Android portion will be updated soon. Probably in the next 12 hours, most likely sometime Friday morning. Right now the Android member registration is a little buggy, but hopefully this will be fixed in the morning.
Apple devices seem to be working fine. Since the App is on a completely new system, you will need to register. Registration is one time and simple, once you register you will be automatically logged in each time.
We just added a new community center over there that has some nice in-app features.
Now I guess I'm lost. I have a founder account and an android phone but I'll still have to register on the app itself? Just trying to make sure I don't do the wrong thing here...
We have fixed the issues with the android registration and it is now working.
Because our desktop version of Celtic Radio and our Mobile website and App use very different technologies for right now there are two different registration systems.
The App registration is very minimal information. We are going to look into some coordination of accounts between the desktop version of Celtic Radio and the Mobile App. Most likely if you are a founder we will have a means for you to access the App no matter what.
So, to answer your question please register the App, but be sure to use the email address that is with your Celtic Radio account.
We our working with our programmer on the facebook login feature on our App and we should have it turned back on shortly.
One you are logged in, please go into the Chat Icon and check it out. This is like a live messenger forum, it has a facebook feel and profile page. It's a place to communicate through the App.
WallaceGal, I hear you about have two different registration systems. First, we are really constrained with a budget to develop this App. Even so it has cost all of last years fund raising event.
The other thing to consider is our technology with the membership system on our desktop version dates back to 2001. We have made some major enhancements and changes, but the App gives us the freedom to do new things with the Mobile App. And that is where the world is heading. Me I am tied very closely to my desktop computer and probably will never give it up, but many people today only have their phones not even a lab top.
The App right now is free and if we were to charge a nominal fee for the App, any premium members would be waived.

Me too on the laptop though I do like the portable music on the phone.
And I'd be happy to pay for the app! Up to $9.99 would be reasonable to me considering most streaming apps charge that much a month! Or a nominal monthly fee even. No problem with that either.

We will determine if your details are in the mobile membership database and if so, we can update your password and give your login details. Once you sign-in subsequent visits will not require login.
Going forward, all premium members will have special access to the App. You will not need to pay for the App if you are a premium member. You will need to contact us though so we can either setup or update your access. Just use the support link above. We are updating our emails and dashboard with instructions too.
