Is anyone here else addicted to Starbucks??? Being an hour away from Seattle we are close enough to smell the coffee beans and get hooked. There is a Starbucks everywhere here. I didnt even go before I moved here.

They took My Brownie Frapp away sad.gif But there is another pretty close to it that tastes more like coffee laugh.gif
So what about you guys, what your pleasure?? I mean besides beer_mug.gif biggrin.gif

I love their sumatra blend or the kona, either of them taste real good. I like dark bold coffees. I can drink a double espresso without blinking depending on the time of day. tongue.gif

Triple Grande cappuccino, a bit on the dry side or a double espresso.

I never have cared for Starbucks. They burn their beans, and that ruins the flavor IMHO. I like getting my coffee from the new BP Amoco gas stations. They have cafés in them called The Wild Bean and they have excellent coffees. They have Colombian supremo, Ethiopian yirgacheffe, French roast, and a couple of others that I can't name right now.

Love Starbucks! I get whatever dark blend they have and add a shot of espresso. Talk about a wake up call! WOOOWEEE!

Vanilla Latte' double shot espresso

OR

The vanilla cream frapp. But i think the new strawberry frapp is winning first place, as the frapp of choice.

Starbucks is reserved for those days when I need a special treat -- then it's always their Peppermint Mocha that I go for! If they've decided it's the wrong season for that flavor, I(nicely) let them know I'm disappointed sad.gif (in hopes they'll bring it back full-time)! At that point it's a tossup as to what I'll choose instead. I love the cozy atmosphere in there, though! It's very relaxing.

Oh, I am so ready for a hot cup of Sumatra!!! It is Friday and I could have slept for 2 more hours. unsure.gif, or maybe a 20oz Milkyway for the sugar content. tongue.gif

I'm not a coffee drinker, prefer Diet Pepsi. I do occasionally like a cold Frappacino, tho.

I saw a bumper sticker the other day that reflects my views on Starbucks.

"Friends don't let friends drink Starbucks"

Ah, the Triple (or sometimes Quad) Venti Caramel Macchiato.

That's what I treat myself to on paydays.

Ok, confession time here. I have never been in a Starbucks. Left the states before they had spread all over the place. However I really like good coffee and there is a lot of it grown here. As a matter of fact I think there are a number of growers in Chiriqui that sell to Starbucks for whatever that is worth. A friend of mine brought me a lb of Janson's from Volcan and it was very good, but I would not spend the $8.00 a pound myself.

We drink Café Olimpo at the house, not sure why other then that is the brand everyone out in this part of the country drinks. That particular coffee company is located out here on the Azuero, so that may be the reason for that. We have a coffee tree in the back patio but lowland coffee turns out really bitter. My mother-in-law roasted some and ground it a few years ago, thats when I became aware of how much she must really dislike me laugh.gif .

So, most of your discussion here goes right over my head not having any idea of what you all are talking about other then the fact that somewhere, those fancy named drinks must have a little of the old joe in them. Anyway, if any of y'all make it down here, stop by and I will make you a real cup of coffee you will never forget.

GTRPLR - We will have to form an aliance against the Coke coalition that is so rampant on this board.usaflag.gif

Leo - what is the chance of getting a good bean smuggled from your country to mine? (rubs wings together vigorously) I love a good dark roast coffee. Just coffee nothing else. alucard.gif

Raven, check this out. It's a little pricey for me, but then that's cause I live in a third world country, tongue.gif . It is very good coffee though.

My all time favorite is a Cafe Valencia. It's a Cafe Mocha with a shot of orange flavored syrup. Tastes just like those chocolate covered orange jelly-like candies. We have so many Starbucks here now that they have mini Starbucks inside the grocery stores.

I know I live in a yuppie town when there is not only Starbucks inside Kroger, but a sushi bar. Raw fish. YECH!

Posted by: MDF3530 14-May-2004, 06:07 PM
We have Starbucks coming out of our ears in the Chicago area. They're in every Dominick's, you can't walk 500 feet downtown without seeing one, they're gonna be in the newly-remodeled tollway oasises, and they just opened their first free-standing store on 103rd Street & Cicero Avenue. As far as their regular coffee goes, I'll put Dunkin' Donuts, White Hen Pantry, Caribou Coffee, Gloria Jean's and the coffees from the new BP Amoco and ExxonMobil gas stations up against Starbucks any day of the week.

There are Starbucks all over the UK, including Edinburgh. Have to confess I'm not keen. I prefer to drink my coffee in a real Italian coffee shop!
