Wall Street is having a hard time maintaining gains as investors await signs of a turn in the recession. Traders have been buying on bits of economic news and earnings reports that offer some hope the economy's slide could be slowing. Analysts say investors may be getting ahead of themselves. The markets have not performed in accordance with the business and economic news over the quarter.
