Wow! I was just out looking at that same moon myself last night -- did you notice a very bright Jupiter not far off and a little higher, to the left? They were beautiful rising over our old classic college buildings with the towers.

That's a lovely vivid shot of the pickles, too -- I feel like I could almost guess the recipe just from the way they look.

These did not turn out as well as I had hoped! They were taken through a dirty window where I work...

A capture is a capture . . . sometimes it's the beauty of the shot, sometimes it's the life inside it. If you'd gone out the little critter might have run away. The top one is a kind of nice composition actually, with the road swinging around from the upper right, the little rounded gravel bank behind the deer, and the way the body is pulled back and curved through the hindquarters. The lines and motion are full and lively, even though the surface is grainy.

Hey Shadows! Don't be so hard on yourself. You got the photos you could get. And nothing like life capture! I wish I could do so!

I have taken many a photo through a dirty window when there was something terrific to capture! You did it! Not many of us could experience what you did except through your photos!

I love your kitty photos as well! You have a kitty named, Riley? One of my Shelties is named Riley. He is 2-1/2.

Thanks for sharing!

A study in light and shadow, one is color edited the other is as is...which do you prefer as an art photo?
Taken at night under flood lights off to the left side.

Shadows, like any form of art. It is all in the eye of the beholder. Both are really good. There are things I love about both of them. I personally love the first image. Like the lighting and contrast better. Just my opinion. doesn't make it right.

Thanks both of you! Still does not help me to decide which one to have made into prints for sale, LOL!

It is funny the other web site I posted and asked gave the same demographic replies... females like the one with more light and the males the darker...

Maybe I should have both made into prints LOL!!!

Thanks

Hi Shadows, I am still exploring and just found your forum. I skipped to the last couple of pages, but I will go back to the beginning so I can see everyone of your marvelous pictures. I got a kick out of your light & dark snow scene vote - I'm another girl who turns to the light. Wouldn't it be great if you could eliminate dirty windows like red eye? I had a great shot of a mountain & clouds but the plane window was so dirty it was hopeless. May I ask for pictures of spring flowers? We can't grow them in FL and I miss them so much

I'm back - saw all your pictures & took a look at DesertRose's galleries. You are both so talented. I loved the spring flowers and hope you will share your yard this spring. The snow & ice pictures were wonderful but I must admit I haven't missed shoveling for the past 15 yrs!
