QUOTE (Robert Phoenix @ 17-Jul-2007, 08:49 PM)
Saw Harry Potter and the OotP tonight.  It was a pretty good movie to watch and the slight innuendos that occured between characters was fun to watch.  You can see the different relationships forming better.  They did leave out alot of Harry's saty at Sirrus house but that wasn't too interesting anyway.  Good movie-can't wait to see all the delaeted scence and director's cuts that will be out soon.  I really like the one woman whose haitr kept changing color like a mood ring-can't remember her name and too tired to look it up.  And is it just me or does this movie really seem to suggest a relationship between Harry and Luna.

Hi Robert,

I'm glad that you enjoyed the movie - after all, if you saw it at night, then you probably paid more than a few bucks to watch it and it's good to get your money's worth!

The person you're thinking of is Nymphadora Tonks, who is an metamorphmagus, that is, can change her hair color and anything else at will. Yep, that's right, after reading the bloody book so much I think I can start quoting it! tongue.gif

The love angle is all wrong, though, since Harry feels sympathy towards Luna, not love. If you were looking at Ginny Weasley's expressions when Harry was with Cho, that should give you an idea of what the sixth book does, which is finally get Ginny and Harry together as a couple. Although the sixth book doesn't say it, I would wager that Luna and Neville Longbottom will become an item in the seventh book, that is, if they both live.

All in all, it's all good fiction - the UK adult version gives me the best imagery, which is what I like about the novels. Although by the end, especially if Gabriel is correct and not a hoaxer, the book will not really be so much for kids than those somewhat older. Malfoy making a horcrux? Hmmm...

Best cheers! Robbie

thumbs_up.gif I saw "Harry Potter" last night and had mixed feelings.

On the one hand they left so much of the book out of the movie that it seemed strange waiting for things to happen that never did. On the other hand if they followed the book more closely you could be in the theatre for days. My nephew is also looking forward to the director's cut version.

I heard a reviewer say that the movie was a waste of time and they haven't shown any creativity since the first movie and all the magic has left Harry Potter films. I kinda wonder who peed in his corn flakes? wink.gif

My wife and I watched Apocolypto - Mel Gibson's Mayan movie. Talk about barbaric! Not only were some of theose Mayans barbaric, they were also perverse! Visually awesome movie with lush jungles and beautiful cinematics.

I saw the movie Shooter with Mark Wahlberg. I thought it was kind of hard to understand what they were saying at times, but great actions scenes, lots of fire.

I am glad you liked Apocolypto TandVh I liked it as well..I don't think this movie was advertised or talked about enough.
I haven't seen Harry Potter yet.

I watched Apocalypto as well. That was one awesome movie. Another I would recomend is The Messengers. I watched it on Friday the 13th. It is kind of a horror/ suspense movie.

In our town we are in the process of getting a huge Harkins theatre. Until that is built we watch movies on either HBO or PPV.

Saw this week "You, Me and Dupree" which was hilarious! Also saw "My Super Ex-Girlfriend." Cute, but not terrific.

Hubby watched tonight "Letters from Iwo Jimo." He said it was not as good as he had anticipated.

I also watched "The Queen." Excellent movie and very deserving of all awards!

I didn't like Messengers too much.
But it wasn't the worst kind of horror movie i've seen, but not so good either.
It is something you can watch if you are bored, but not worth buying on dvd for example.

Anyone here see the movie Pontiac Moon with Ted Danson? It's an older movie- maybe 5, 6 years or so, but quite a character study! We watched it last night- got it off the bargain rack at Walmart.

Gangs of New York was on TV tonight so I watched that. It's one of my favorites and one of the few times that I enjoyed Cameron Diaz aside from Shrek. I still have to add it to my collection although I'm hesitant to buy any movies wiith this whole HD/ Blue Ray fight coming up.

Watched The Departed last night. It was a good movie. They didn't need so many F-bombs though. Sorry, I don't believe any one talks like that, whether they are Tony Soprano or Jack Nicholson.
Was a little disappointed there was only one Dropkick Murphys song (Shipping up to Boston). I was led to believe there were more.
Overall a good movie. Best Picture Oscar? Not so sure sad.gif

I saw Harry Potter last week and today, The Simpsons. Both were good in very different ways. I'm a big HP fan and just started reading the last book. Though there was a lot left out from the book, I enjoyed the movie very much. Excellent as always.
