| I was an EMT for a number of years.....this poem is a by-product of a night full of flashbacks and was written about 4 am earlier this year. I hope no one will mind nor be disturbed by it. Draconis EMT's Nightmare Lights flashing...sirens screaming.. Working on broken bodies, trying not to think Trying just to do Wondering how could this be ? Hear the pitiful cries and moans of the wounded and dying echoing thru the night. Now...a new sound arises from the darkness A cry...of hope, of rage and defiance.. An angel appears, clad in the purity of faith and hope. The cries of the wounded quiet slowly as the angel walks by.. You gaze in wonder as the broken bodies are healed You hear the angel's voice... and tremble at the sound as it flows through you... ARISE ! I am hope...I am life.. No more shall this be ! Then.....
