The world's best and most spectacular New Year festival puts Scotland's capital at the center of worldwide New Year celebrations. Some of the most popular events in the Hogmanay calendar are set to return, along with many new and exciting shows. Highlights include free events such as the Torchlight Procession and Fire Festival, the Night Afore Fiesta, and the world famous Royal Bank Street Party. As in previous years, entrance to the Royal Bank Street Party is free of charge, but admission is by pass only.
New Year's Day events include the Hogmanay Triathlon, Huskies at Holyrood and the invigorating Loony Dook in the River Forth! Ticketed events are set to include the Concert in the Gardens, the New Year Revels, the Candlelit Concert in the Cathedral and the Hogmanay Club.
Partake in four fabulous days of amazing events throughout the city, with processions, music, dance, carnivals, fireworks and lots, lots more. Well New Years for me is usually spent ordering out chinese food, half awake half asleep with a glass of wine....but then around 11:40 I wake up all of the kids, drag out some pots and pans and have the kids whoop it up at 12:00, we then usually stay up until 2:00 a.m!
Well our family usually gets together over crackers & cheese, chips, pop & other goodies and watches TV. At midnight we go outside and shoot off a few fireworks.
