Annabelle,
You mean you modeled for Hercules too?

Sorry I am not picturing that what so ever.

Ye I also grew up with Herc but I decided Xena was better... HERC just seemed to cliche. so does Xena but she's more diverse in the cultures and he was all about "ooo gods bad no Hera bad tooo aaa." Xena was more about chakram yea hey gabby.. oh and Virgil he's cute

Yea, Xena is way cooler. Def to the initly. But Annabelle, what do you mean by modeling? Not sure I understand what you're saying. Like extras or modeling for figures, having fun. You just look like her? Just curious....

Xena had some serious issues sometimes...like the kissing between Gab and Xena, made me ask questions...was that so it appealed to a broader audience?

Lillithburn I'm sure I could never hold a candle up to the standards of the image of Xena, but I do look pretty mean when I come at you with a saber or fencing foil...but I've been stabbed a couple of times so no I'm not 10 ft tall and bullet proof if you get me...but I can hack a good bit off of you before you get me...

That's pretty impressive nonetheless. Do you fence at all? You mentioned the sabre or foil. My ex-boyfriend did a lot of fencing so I'm quite versed in the swords and things. You say you've been stabbed. Jeez that must have felt dandy. Are we talking like blood gushing stab or like wearing padding fencing tourney style stabbed? I've been through a lot of the fencing injuries with the ex. They're a pain.

In response to the Xena and Gabby kissing bit....Even they don't know what that was about...I was watching an episode where they showed commentary from Lucy and Renee and everytime that happened they were like "What?! I don't remember that....that was bizarre!" So yea, there were some issues and MAJOR subtext that some viewers had to overlook, but beyond that, I mean, she's this chick with like a frisbee that takes down giants, rips out a vicious war cry, does really sweet flips, spits fire and still finds the time to hang out with the best friend. I think she's pretty cool, if you can get past being uncomfortable with all the implications. You actually get used to it after seeing it like a gagillion times. Its like you'd miss it if it were gone...or not.....

Anyway, in conclusion....XENA RULES

Yes, I love Fencing...moving into Swords now but they hurt when hit. I wear fencing garments with the padding in the chest area. I've gotten stabbed in the shoulder twice where the foil point slid up the shoulder and into side of neck...the kavlar jacket we wear protects almost everything but collar does protect your neck but you can still get a person.
One of my best friends moved into Swords before me and she beats you down unmercifully. Keeps at ya til she tires ya out...have to learn how to block and pare' the sword. She has more stamina than I but I show more strength in direct hits...so we are an even match...you just have to be move more...get your hits in quickly and move constantly or she will wear me down..go for the kill faster.
I loved the sword fight's in the "Pirates of the Caribbean". Whoever directed the stunts was very very good...excellent trainer...great defensive and attack positions.

As for Xena, I liked the show...just wondered about those things I mentioned.
I thought they took away from the show...but I still like Hercules better...
man was he pretty and did you look at that hair...

Ha! Yea I like Hercules, but I prefer Iolus. I still think Xena's a better show, but that could be cause I've seen a whole lot more of it then Hercules.

That's cool about fencing. I haven't met many women who fence. That's probably cause I hung around my boyfriend who only talked to the guys. Sucks about getting stabbed though. I love Pirates of the Caribbean. I agree that some of the fight scences were well put together. My fencing friend also thought so (he explained it all to me). However, I think I liked that movie more for Johnny and Orlando....

I never did get into the whole Hercules / Xena thing. I could never take anything like that too seriously.
